STEP 1

How to make potato casserole with mushrooms and cheese? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. I will cook with champignons, but they can be replaced with any others. Peel the potatoes in advance and rinse them to remove dirt. You can use any cheese, as long as it melts well in the oven.
STEP 2

Cut the peeled potatoes into slices.
STEP 3

Rinse the champignons in running water to remove any dirt, dry and cut into slices.
STEP 4

Peel the onion and chop finely. Pour vegetable oil into a hot frying pan and add chopped onion. Fry it for a minute over low heat.
STEP 5

Then add the chopped mushrooms to the pan. Fry everything together for 5-7 minutes. Add salt and spices. During this time, the mushrooms will decrease in size.
STEP 6

Pour the cream into another pan and bring to a boil. Place the chopped potatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Add some salt and chopped garlic.
STEP 7

For baking, you can take any heat-resistant form. I have a ceramic one. Grease the bottom and sides of the pan with vegetable oil and place 2/3 of the potatoes.

Sprinkle with a little grated cheese. In this type of casserole, I always sprinkle grated cheese between the layers. It holds all the layers together and the finished dish will not fall apart when we put it on a plate.
STEP 9

Next add the fried mushrooms and a little more grated cheese.
STEP 10

Top with remaining potatoes and remaining cream from the pan. Sprinkle the top with cheese.
STEP 11

Several slices of mushrooms can be used to decorate the casserole. Cover the pan with foil and place in the oven for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and leave in the oven for another 20 minutes. Use your oven as a guide.
STEP 12

The finished casserole will be slightly browned. Remove it from the oven and serve hot. Bon appetit!
