Pie with strawberry jam

Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to make strawberry jam pie? Measure out the required ingredients. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft. Any thick jam is also suitable for the filling. If there is too much syrup in the jam, you can strain it to make the filling thicker. Adjust the amount of sugar for the dough to taste.
STEP 2

Mix flour with baking powder and sift to clear it of possible debris and increase the effect of baking powder.
STEP 3

Beat the egg with a fork in a small bowl. Pour just a little beaten egg to brush the top of the pie before baking (about 1.5 tsp).
STEP 4

Mix soft butter with sugar and salt.
STEP 5

Add the beaten egg to the butter mixture and stir.
STEP 6

Add flour sifted with baking powder. Knead the dough quickly. It is important that the butter does not overheat from the heat of your hands and begin to melt. Then the finished pie will turn out tender and crumbly.
STEP 7

Divide the dough into two parts: a larger one for the base of the pie, a smaller one for decorating the pie on top. Wrap the dough in cling film or a bag and put it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
STEP 8

Roll out most of the chilled dough between two layers of parchment into a round layer. I find it more convenient to use cling film for this purpose.
STEP 9

Cover the bottom of the baking dish with parchment and lightly grease the sides with vegetable oil. Transfer the rolled out dough into the mold, spread it over the bottom and form low sides.
STEP 10

Spread the jam onto the dough in an even layer.
STEP 11

From the second chilled part of the dough, you can cut out various decorations (figures, stripes) and place them on top of the pie. Using a pastry brush, gently brush the cake with the reserved beaten egg.
STEP 12

Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180 C for about 25 minutes until lightly browned. You should not wait for the bright color of the pie so that the shortbread dough does not dry out. In this case, the pie may turn out to be tough. Determine the baking time and mode based on the operating characteristics of your oven.
STEP 13

Remove the finished pie from the mold, cool and serve. Bon appetit!
