Pasta with meatballs in the oven

A fun dish for a family dinner. The children are delighted! Unusual serving of pasta with meat. Thanks to tomato sauce, pasta acquires a special taste. And the spices give the dish a touch of Italian cuisine.

    For meatballs we use any minced meat. I have beef, but it’s better to take pork and beef. Add the egg, salt, ground pepper, semolina (you can replace it with a piece of bun soaked in milk). Stir, add a little water and beat the minced meat in a deep bowl for 3-5 minutes, adding water if necessary, but so that you can then roll the minced meat into balls. It took me about 1/3 of a glass.

    Let the minced meat brew a little while we melt the butter and turn on the oven at 200 degrees.

    Grease the baking dish generously with melted butter and place meat balls in it, which we mold with hands moistened with water, d2 cm. Then, using a brush, cover each ball with melted butter. Place the pan in the oven and bake the meatballs until browned. This takes me 20 minutes: 10 minutes. at a temperature of 200 degrees, then increase the temperature to 220 and move the mold higher.

    Now prepare the sauce in a saucepan. Finely chop the onion and garlic. Three carrots on a coarse grater. Cut the bell pepper into strips.

    Fry all the vegetables in vegetable oil, adding one by one: onion, garlic, carrots, pepper.

    Add tomato juice. I use canned ground tomatoes (I store them for the winter), but you can use tomato paste. Sprinkle salt and sugar. Simmer covered over low heat until an oil film appears on top.

    Remove the lightly browned meatballs from the oven.

    Place in a saucepan with sauce.

    Add water (approx. 1/2 cup), you can add 50 ml. dry red wine (if the dish is prepared for adults). Add the spices and simmer under the lid until the liquid has almost completely evaporated.

    Cooking pasta. I cook with Italian long noodles, but you can use any pasta. Everyone cooks pasta differently. I pour it into boiling salted water and cook for 3 minutes. after boiling, stirring occasionally. Then turn off the heat, cover with a lid and let stand for 10 minutes, stirring a couple of times. Drain the water and place in the pan in which the meatballs were baked.

    We also send meatballs with sauce there. Mix.

    Cover with foil or a lid and put in the oven for 5-10 minutes (t 200)
