You cannot knead the shortbread dough for a long time, so that it does not become tight and the products made from it become hard.

    It should be a little sticky and soft. Place it on a floured work surface, cover with a bowl and let it rest. Meanwhile, make the pie filling. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.

    You can use any apples you like for this pie; this is a great way to use garden apples that have lost their beautiful appearance or are slightly damaged. Wash the apples, peel and cut out the core with seeds, cut the pulp into slices. To prevent the apples from darkening, you can sprinkle them with lemon juice, but too much of it can make the pie filling sour.

For tea I baked an open pie with apples. I kneaded the dough according to the recipe. Apples, washed, peeled and seeded, cut into slices. I placed the rolled out dough in a mold, brushed it with a little cherry plum jam and placed apple slices on top. I sprinkled sugar and ground cinnamon on top of them. I baked a pie, first it was covered with foil so that the apples did not dry out. It turned out to be a delicious, aromatic pie! The recipe is excellent, I recommend it!
