  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

    Ingredients.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Beat the egg, then add the oat bran.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add aromatic herbs. I used dried basil and dill. It's up to your taste. Add a little salt and mix.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour the resulting mass with kefir, mix and leave for 30-40 minutes. During this time, the bran will swell and the dough will become thicker, although it will remain fluid.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the dough on a frying pan or baking sheet greased with vegetable oil and level it with a spoon.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

On top, for beauty and a more aromatic taste, I sprinkled strips of basil, dill and sesame seeds. Bake at 200 degrees. 30 minutes until browning (depend on your oven).

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Let the flatbread cool slightly, then cut into portioned loaves.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

The breads turn out moderately soft and really tasty. Bon appetit!

The breads are, without exaggeration, excellent. I didn’t expect that there would be such a noble aroma - my family’s mouth watered, as they say. Returning to the preparation path, I want to talk about the nuances - note my thoughts on the course of action. Basil is an infrequent guest in the basket of the common man, and it is worth considering that this product should be taken in the form of a powder or at least small pieces, so as not to bother with grinding. You really need to add salt in moderation, since kefir is already sour enough to get a balance of flavor. The baking sheet must be generously greased with oil, otherwise you will not be able to tear the loaves of bread from it. I warn those who decide to cover it not to use parchment and recommend taking foil. To make it easier to form neat loaves, you should take a split rectangular pan. But you will have to bake it without removing it. The finished product should be removed only after it has cooled. I will add that it is quite difficult to create strips of greenery, as shown in the author’s photo - I personally abandoned this step due to lack of patience. My friends ate with pleasure, including me, although I only got pieces of the layer that went beyond the limits of my springform pan. We eat with a bang with a glass of kombucha. Thanks to the author for this really worthy recipe.
