New Year's cake Christmas tree with nut aroma

Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
First, melt the chocolate and butter in a water bath.
STEP 2
We wait until the mass cools down at room temperature.
STEP 3
Beat eggs with sugar until fluffy; while beating, add honey little by little.
STEP 4
Mix the egg mixture with the chocolate mixture. Carefully, with slow movements, we do all this using a silicone spatula or you can use a spoon. The mass should remain fluffy.
STEP 5
Sift cocoa and baking powder into flour.
STEP 6
Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Stir them in using a spatula until any lumps disappear completely.
STEP 7
Add coarsely chopped almonds or any other nuts to taste (for example, cashews, walnuts or hazelnuts).
STEP 8
Grease the surface of the mold with butter and spray with flour. Then transfer the dough here and place it in an oven preheated to 170 degrees for 30 minutes.
STEP 9
If the sponge cake is not baked, bake the dough at a higher temperature. Or you can first bake it for 10 minutes at 200°C, then reduce the temperature to 170°C and bake until done. Everyone's oven is different, so you need to make sure that the sponge cake does not burn. And if it is burnt, carefully cut off the top using a saw knife.
STEP 10
I transfer the cooled pastry onto a wooden plate; I sprinkled it with powdered sugar. I decorate the surface of the Christmas tree with whipped cream. On top of the creamy layer I put multi-colored candies with chocolate filling - these are our Christmas tree decorations. In addition, I decorate the Christmas tree with confectionery sprinkles in the shape of cute stars so that our baked goods shine with festive lights.
