Mixed hodgepodge in a slow cooker

This dish is perfect for a hearty lunch without any hassle. Solyanka is a special soup. Firstly, it can serve as the first dish on the dinner table. And secondly, this is perhaps the only soup that can be served on a holiday as a hot dish.

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr 20 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

If you took chicken breasts, I suggest cutting off the meat from them, leaving only the bones for cooking the broth - up to 40 minutes 3 liters - some will boil away - in total there will be a maximum of 2 liters left for use, and the fillet itself in a bowl for steaming in a microwave - for 20 minutes. If you don’t want to bother or took the meat without bones, you can cook it in the old “old-fashioned” way over a fire!

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Why do we steam fillet? It turns out more tender and juicy, and is also easier to cut into cubes for further cooking.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While the meat and broth are cooking, cut the onion into 3/4 half rings (or as you like, but not very finely) and pickled cucumbers into small cubes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

The fillet is ready, let it cool and then cut it into medium cubes. Continue cooking in the microwave.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Vegetable oil or butter is not at all necessary for frying, it is at your discretion! I added 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, fry the onion in the “frying” mode for 5 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Next, add the cucumbers and fry in the same mode for another 2-3 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Then add the chopped chicken fillet and fry for another 5 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

If you had a ready-made set for hodgepodge, remove it from the bag and wash it. If you took everything separately, cut all the sausages into approximately equal pieces.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Add the sausage mixture to the MV bowl with the rest of the ingredients, salt, pepper, mix, and fry for up to 10 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Now it's time to add tomato juice. I first take 350-500 g (0.5 packet) and pour it into the meat mixture in the microwave, mix everything, close the lid and turn on the “stew” mode for 1 hour (this is the standard time, but I think it’s too much)

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

After 20-30 minutes, add the remaining juice and leave to simmer for another 10-15 minutes.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

You may ask - what to do with the broth?! Now his time has come! Since my MV bowl is small, I finish cooking the dish over the fire and envy those who bought 5 liters of MV))) I dilute all the contents of the MV with broth, it should be approximately no more than 2 liters and let it boil. Your dish is ready! You can serve it on the table: add portions to each plate: olives, black olives, herbs, a slice of lemon, and, if desired, fresh Crimean onion. Bon appetit!

Delicious soup! I also cook hodgepodge in a slow cooker in much the same way. The fifth step just raised a question: “Vegetable oil or butter for frying is not at all necessary, it’s at your discretion!” Do you mean that you can fry without oil?

That's right - you can fry everything in a slow cooker without oil! but out of habit, we still add at least a little of it, at least so that it doesn’t burn!

I've been cooking in a slow cooker for three years now, but it never occurred to me to fry without oil... Should I try it?

The original goal of purchasing CF for our family was to eat properly or at least more harmlessly than in a frying pan with a ton of butter! At first I read a lot of information on the Internet that those who cannot deny themselves fried food... you can make it more harmless - cooking in an air fryer and multicooker without oil! We bought both, I bake meat and potatoes in an air fryer without any oil at all, sometimes I add it to the slow cooker, depending on what I’m cooking and what the recipe is!
