Minced meat balls in the oven with gravy

STEP 1

How to bake minced meatballs with gravy in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the meatballs. I used minced pork, but you can use any minced meat: beef, chicken or mixed.

Soak the loaf in milk.
STEP 3

Peel the onion and chop it randomly. To prevent the onion from stinging your eyes when slicing, rinse it and the knife with cold water.
STEP 4

Chop the onion in any convenient way. I used a blender.
STEP 5

Add the loaf soaked in milk to the onion and chop everything again until smooth.
STEP 6

Add the resulting mass to the minced meat. Add egg, black pepper, salt.
STEP 7

Mix the minced meat well.
STEP 8

Form into round balls and roll them in flour. Later, when baking, the flour will give the tomato gravy a slight thickness.
STEP 9

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Quickly fry the meatballs on both sides until golden brown. Frying will retain the meat juices inside, and the meatballs will be tender and juicy.

Place the fried meatballs in a baking dish. One bit didn’t fit in, I baked it separately.
STEP 11

Prepare the necessary ingredients for tomato gravy. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
STEP 13

Wash the carrots, peel and grate on a coarse grater.
STEP 14

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat. Add the vegetables to the pan and fry over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add tomato paste. If desired, you can add 1 tbsp at this stage. sour cream.
STEP 16

Pour in water and mix well. Simmer the gravy over low heat for 8-10 minutes. Add a little salt to taste.
STEP 17

Add any spices and herbs. I took basil and a mixture of herbs (Mediterranean). Stir. Herbs will reveal their flavor and aroma when roasted.
STEP 18

Pour tomato sauce over the meatballs. It is desirable that it completely covers the meatballs.
STEP 19

Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 30 minutes. The exact time depends on the features of your oven. Serve the meatballs hot with any side dish. Bon appetit!
