STEP 1
How to bake meatballs without gravy in the oven? Prepare your food. You can use any minced meat - beef, chicken, turkey, mixed. I have pork. It can be either purchased or homemade. Any unparboiled rice will do (it will remain firm), round or long. Read more about the intricacies of choosing rice in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.
STEP 2
Rinse the rice until transparent, cover with cold, clean water and set to cook. After boiling, add salt and cook the rice for 5 minutes - this way it will become half-cooked and will not soften the meatballs. Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold water - it will cool quickly and will not be sticky.
STEP 3
Place the minced meat in a bowl. Peel and chop the onion in any way. You can simply chop it finely or grind it in a blender. Or grate it like I did. You can change the amount of onion to your taste - the more there is, the juicier, but also the spicier the meatballs will be.
STEP 4
Add rice to the minced meat, beat in the egg. Salt and pepper it to taste. You can also use any seasonings you like. Knead the minced meat thoroughly until smooth.
STEP 5
Line a baking dish with foil or baking paper. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Make small balls from the minced meat. Place them in the mold. Keep in mind that the meatballs will shrink in size when baked.
STEP 6
Bake the meatballs for 40-50 minutes until golden brown. The exact time will depend on your oven and the size of the meatballs. Mine baked for 50 minutes. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 7
Serve the meatballs with any side dish or fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!
