Meatballs without gravy in the oven

Ruddy, aromatic, delicious to the point of madness! Nobody will refuse! Meatballs without gravy baked in the oven cook much faster than usual - you don’t need to mix the sauce, you just need to form balls and put them in the oven. Rice added to the minced meat makes the meatballs richer and tastier.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake meatballs without gravy in the oven? Prepare your food. You can use any minced meat - beef, chicken, turkey, mixed. I have pork. It can be either purchased or homemade. Any unparboiled rice will do (it will remain firm), round or long. Read more about the intricacies of choosing rice in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice until transparent, cover with cold, clean water and set to cook. After boiling, add salt and cook the rice for 5 minutes - this way it will become half-cooked and will not soften the meatballs. Place the rice in a sieve and rinse under cold water - it will cool quickly and will not be sticky.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the minced meat in a bowl. Peel and chop the onion in any way. You can simply chop it finely or grind it in a blender. Or grate it like I did. You can change the amount of onion to your taste - the more there is, the juicier, but also the spicier the meatballs will be.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add rice to the minced meat, beat in the egg. Salt and pepper it to taste. You can also use any seasonings you like. Knead the minced meat thoroughly until smooth.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Line a baking dish with foil or baking paper. Read about how to choose a baking dish in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Make small balls from the minced meat. Place them in the mold. Keep in mind that the meatballs will shrink in size when baked.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Bake the meatballs for 40-50 minutes until golden brown. The exact time will depend on your oven and the size of the meatballs. Mine baked for 50 minutes. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Serve the meatballs with any side dish or fresh vegetables. Bon appetit!

I know the recipe. I make these meatballs often. For those who prefer a dish with gravy, I will offer oven-baked meatballs in tomato paste sauce.

Before, I didn’t even know that meatballs can be baked just like that without gravy. I wanted to try it. I made my own adjustments to the composition. In addition to the onions, I added grated carrots, they are juicy and add a slight sweet note. In addition to black pepper, I added paprika. My minced meat is also made from beef and pork. I sculpted the meatballs with wet hands, resulting in smooth koloboks. I baked it on parchment and did not grease it with oil. I didn’t change the time or temperature, everything was on the timer) The result was excellent meatballs, they were covered with a crispy crust on top, and soft and juicy inside. My children really liked the meatballs without gravy in the oven, they are unusual, like small cutlets. At the same time, the meatballs are tasty, filling and can be eaten with any side dish, and even better with fresh vegetables.

I cooked meatballs for dinner without gravy in the oven. I used mixed minced meat (pork and beef). I baked the meatballs for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. It turned out very tasty and satisfying. Served with buckwheat. The dinner was a great success! Thanks to the author!
