Lenten green pea soup

Bright and colorful Lenten soup! Diversify your menu! This soup can be prepared during fasting; it is very nutritious and at the same time easy to prepare. You can use frozen peas or fresh ones, whatever you have on hand. Same with dill. Adjust the amount of lemon juice to your taste - some people like it sour, others prefer a more delicate taste. If you are not fasting, you can add cream or sour cream to the soup!

    Peel the onion and cut into cubes as desired. We need to fry it and we will chop it later, so the size of the cubes does not matter. Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and fry for 5-6 minutes.

    The finished onion is very fragrant and golden in color.

    Add the fried onion to the cooked peas and leave for 5 minutes so that the vegetables cool down from the “boiling water”

    Then add salt to taste, lemon juice and dill to the vegetables in a saucepan. We need to grind everything with a blender. I have a submersible one, if you don’t have one, you can use a blender bowl; they also make cocktails in these.

    Grind our soup into puree. The aroma is amazing! Then you need to put the saucepan with the soup on the fire and bring the contents to a boil. Add pepper to taste. You might want to add some more lemon juice - try it!
