Lazy cabbage rolls with cabbage and minced meat in the oven

Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can use any minced meat, but it’s better to have chicken in it, so the cabbage rolls will be juicier. Instead of tomato paste, you can use ketchup or tomatoes in their own juice.
STEP 2
Pour boiling water over the rice and cook until done. Rinse with cold water.
STEP 3
Finely chop the cabbage.
STEP 4
Pour boiling water over the cabbage and leave for 15 minutes until it becomes soft. Then drain the water and squeeze the cabbage to rid it of excess liquid.
STEP 5
Peel the carrots and grate on a coarse grater.
STEP 6
Peel the onion and finely chop it.
STEP 7
Fry chopped carrots and onions in oil in a frying pan until soft.
STEP 8
In a bowl, mix minced meat, boiled rice, 1/3 of the fried vegetables and cabbage. Mix everything, add salt and pepper to taste.
STEP 9
Form the mixture into balls and place in a row on a greased baking dish. Place in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
STEP 10
Mix the remaining carrots and onions with tomato paste, add water and simmer for ten minutes.
STEP 11
Remove the cabbage rolls from the oven, pour in the sauce and place in the oven for 20 minutes, covering with foil.
STEP 12
Serve the finished lazy cabbage rolls hot, topped with sour cream.
