  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make pita bread in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dish. You may need one or two eggs for the batter, depending on the size of the eggs themselves and the volume of the envelopes.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the tomato, dry it and cut it into small cubes. Small pieces will not tear the pita bread when forming envelopes. It is better to choose tomatoes that are fleshy, not watery, so that they do not soak the pita bread. If a lot of juice comes out when cutting, it needs to be drained.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Wash the greens, dry and finely chop.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cut the pita bread into rectangles measuring approximately 15x30 cm. My pita bread was one sheet and the size was 75 by 30. It is very convenient to cut it into 5 parts.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

On each piece of lavash, stepping back from the edge, place 1-2 tbsp. l. tomatoes, 1 tbsp. l. grated cheese and 1 tsp. chopped greens. Lightly salt and pepper the filling. If the cheese is already salty, then it is not necessary to add additional salt to the filling.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Folding the edges so that the filling does not fall out, roll the pita bread into an envelope or triangle.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Form all the other envelopes in the same way.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Prepare the batter. Beat the egg (or eggs) until smooth.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Dip the resulting envelopes into the beaten egg on all sides.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the prepared envelopes seam side down and fry over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Then turn the envelopes over to the other side and fry until golden brown.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Transfer the finished lavash envelopes with tomatoes and cheese to a plate and serve hot. Bon appetit!

I happened to have two pita breads and a couple of juicy tomatoes in my hands. I didn’t know what to do with them, so I looked on the website for recipes using lavash and found a recipe that was suitable for the ingredients. Just a few minutes of preparation and I have pita bread with cheese and tomatoes fried in a frying pan. I cut the pita bread into rectangles across the sheets. I put chopped tomatoes, parsley with dill and frozen cheese on them. I simply wrapped it in a roll, or if possible, then in an envelope. It took me two C2 category eggs to make the batter. These “pies” fry quickly. After frying, I laid them out on a paper towel. When hot, these envelopes strongly resemble pizza! Just a delight! Very juicy, satisfying, the cheese stretches) I ate them with red onion rings, delicious is not the word!
