  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make strudel from pita bread with apples in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can take any apples. If they are too sour, add more sugar. If they are too hard, this is not critical, since we simmer them in a frying pan anyway. Instead of walnuts, you can use hazelnuts, peanuts or others.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash and dry the apples. Peel them from seeds and skin, cut into not very thin slices. Pour lemon juice over the apples to prevent them from browning and stir.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Grind the walnuts into crumbs. You can do this using a blender, or you can pass them through a meat grinder.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Melt butter in a frying pan, add sugar, stir.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Over low heat with constant stirring, bring the sugar mixture to a golden color.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the prepared apples in the pan.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Simmer the apples over medium heat until soft. Focus on your stove. 5 minutes before the end of cooking, add cinnamon and stir. Let the filling cool. If you can't time the stew correctly, just add the cinnamon when the apples just start to soften.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Wash the raw chicken egg and dry it with a napkin. Place it in a bowl and beat until smooth with a fork or whisk.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the pita bread on a work surface. Brush the surface of the pita bread with beaten egg.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Sprinkle the lavash greased with egg with chopped walnuts (half a walnut is used for 1 sheet of lavash).

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place half of the apple filling on top of the nut layer, distributing it evenly and not reaching the edges of the pita bread by about 1.5-2 cm.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Fold inward, directly over the filling, first the short edges of the pita bread, and then both long edges.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Start rolling the roll from the short edge. Do the same with the second sheet of pita bread.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Place the strudels on oiled parchment and brush the top with the remaining beaten egg.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Bake the strudels in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. Determine the baking time and temperature based on your oven.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

Let the finished strudels cool. Then cut them into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!

When you don’t have time, a recipe for such baking helps a lot. I tried baking it and liked the result. By the way, the fillings can be different, for example, cottage cheese with banana.

I love baked goods with apples, especially strudel. I found a quick and easy recipe for lavash strudel with apples in the oven on the website. I made one roll. For the apple filling, I took ripe sweet apples and added lemon juice to them during frying to balance the taste. I didn’t add nuts to the strudel, but I sprinkled the filling with cinnamon to my heart’s content. The pita bread, brushed with egg, curled well. I baked it for exactly 15 minutes and the top turned slightly golden. At first the strudel was soft inside and had a crispy crust on top. As it cooled, the filling became even juicier and the top softened. Apparently the fragrant apple filling has completely saturated the layers of lavash). The strudel is cut well, the pieces keep their shape. The pastries are very tasty!

Julia, I finally made strudel according to your recipe yesterday!!! It turned out to be a wonderful strudel, almost like a real one))) I added another 50 grams of raisins and sprinkled sugar on top to make the crust crispy. I kept it in the oven for about half an hour, but the crust still didn’t form.. I’m leaving this recipe in KK, I’ll add to my collection of recipes for lavash dishes))) here’s my photo report)))

A quick and tasty recipe that is also dietary. For those who care about what they eat, this is it. Sugar can be varied to your taste and depending on the sweetness of the apples themselves, I took 2 times less sugar. My strudel came out with a crispy crust and tender inside. I really liked the idea; by the beginning of the apple season we are arming ourselves with apple recipes. Thank you!
