Cherry strudel with cherries

Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake cherry strudel with cherries? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Be sure to sift the flour. This will saturate it with oxygen, and the dough will turn out more tender and airy. The water should be warm.
STEP 2
Place the egg in a bowl and beat with a fork. For the dough you will only need half an egg. The rest will be used to grease the roll before baking.
STEP 3
Combine sifted flour, warm water, half a beaten egg, vegetable oil and salt. Knead into a smooth, homogeneous dough. You may need a little more or a little less flour than the specified amount.
STEP 4
Form the dough into a ball, wrap it in film and leave it warm for 2 hours. Be sure to rest the dough for the specified time, otherwise it will not stretch properly.
STEP 5
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the filling.
STEP 6
Place the cherries in a colander and leave to defrost. All the juice should drain from the berries, then the filling will not flow during baking.
STEP 7
Combine and mix sugar, ground almonds and breadcrumbs.
STEP 8
Turn on the oven to 180 degrees. Dust the dough with flour and first roll it out with a rolling pin. Then transfer the dough to a towel and slowly stretch it with your hands from the center to the edges, then the edges themselves. The dough should be stretched as thin as possible. If the dough breaks here and there when stretching, you can easily pinch this area. The result should be a more or less even rectangle.
STEP 9
Using a brush, brush the entire surface of the dough with vegetable oil.
STEP 10
Sprinkle the sugar-almond mixture evenly over the dough, coming within 1cm of the edges.
STEP 11
Scatter the cherries evenly on top.
STEP 12
Using a towel, carefully roll the dough into a tight log along the short edge, tucking in the side edges and carefully pinching the seams so that the filling does not leak out.a

Place the strudel on a baking sheet, seam side down. Brush with the remaining beaten egg. Bake the cherry strudel for about 40 minutes at 180°C. The exact time depends on the features of your oven.
STEP 15
Serve the strudel with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Bon appetit!
