  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make jellied dough for a kefir pie? Beat a chicken egg into a bowl. If you wish, you can not use chicken eggs for this dough at all, but with them the baked goods will still be tastier and more convenient. Beat the egg with a fork or whisk with the addition of salt. If the dough is being prepared for a sweet pie, then you need to add sugar to taste and vanilla if desired.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour kefir and odorless vegetable oil into a bowl with the egg mixture. Mix the ingredients until the mixture is homogeneous in consistency. Kefir does not have to be fresh, it will even be better if it is yesterday’s dough, then the dough will be fluffier, and the cake from such dough will rise better. This is a great way to recycle stale kefir that you no longer want to eat without heat treatment.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add soda, mix and leave the dough piece on the table for 5 minutes so that a reaction occurs between kefir and soda. In the meantime, you can sift the wheat flour. It is better to sift the flour more than once to saturate it with oxygen; the baked goods will also turn out more fluffy.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour wheat flour into a bowl with liquid in batches and knead the dough to a consistency as thick as sour cream. Visually it resembles pancake dough. It is not recommended to beat and mix the jellied dough for a long time. Please note that you may need a little more or a little less flour - focus on consistency.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The dough is ready. You can move on to preparing the filling and baking the pie. Pies made from this dough are very tender, soft and slightly juicy in taste. Bon appetit!

I really love jellied pies for their simplicity and speed) Usually the dough is made with sour cream and mayonnaise, but I wanted something less high in calories. On the website I found a suitable version of the kefir test. True, I replaced kefir with 2% fermented baked milk, but this replacement is absolutely not noticeable in the pie. The jellied dough for a kefir pie without yeast is kneaded in just a couple of minutes, it takes longer to make the filling) By the way, the filling was made from canned tuna, boiled eggs and green onions. The pie was baked in a slow cooker. It turned out to be tall, fluffy, and the crumb was porous. The dough was not at all raw and baked perfectly. I recommend this recipe as a basis for creativity!

I often make this pie when I have stewed cabbage in the refrigerator. It turns out very tasty. Snezhana, I also like your recipe for jellied dough without eggs. This time I am attaching a photo report. The pie is delicious, the dough is soft and thin. I wanted to ask one more thing, I always end up with a thick dough, although I made it according to different recipes. And I always have to not pour it into the mold, but lay it out for a long time and carefully. I'm satisfied with the taste of the dough. Can you please tell me if the dough should be runny? What could be my mistake? Thank you)))

This was my first time making a pie like this, I have nothing to compare it to. It seems like it wasn't baked. Can you please tell me how tall the pie needs to be for it to bake? I have a height of 3.5 cm with a bottom diameter of ∅17. It rose well in the oven, probably halfway, and then fell off, baked for 50 minutes at 180’
