STEP 1
How to make herring in mustard sauce? Prepare your food. Take lightly salted herring, strong and fatty. You can buy it or pickle it yourself.
STEP 2
The most difficult part of the recipe is cutting the fish. To do this, cut off the head and rip open the abdomen. Remove the entrails. Don’t throw away the caviar or milk, they are also very tasty. Cut out the top fin, cut off the tail. Remove the skin by carefully prying it off around the tail. Cut off the bottom of the abdomen along with the lower fins. Separate one part of the carcass, remove the ridge.
STEP 3
Use a knife to scrape off any remaining black film from the belly. Remove the rib bones. Cut the resulting fillets into pieces.
STEP 4
Prepare the sauce. Mix mustard, mayonnaise, a teaspoon of sugar, lemon juice and ground black pepper. Choose sweet, tasty mustard, use a smaller amount of spicy mustard.
STEP 5
Peel the onion, cut into thin rings or half rings. Place it in a bowl, pour in the vinegar, add the remaining spoon of sugar. Remember the bow with your hands.
STEP 6
Take a flat plate. Place pickled onion rings on it as the first layer.
STEP 7
Place the chopped herring on the onion. Don't forget about caviar or milk. Pour mustard sauce over the top of the herring and spread it evenly over the pieces. Place the herring in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
STEP 8
