Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
First, decide what cut the zucchini will be. Depending on this, buy the desired zucchini. If you plan to cook the zucchini in the form of circles, use a more elongated and thinner zucchini (there will be beautiful circles that you can put whole in your mouth in one bite). If you plan to fry oblong-shaped zucchini, on the contrary, buy a thicker zucchini, as it will look better on the dish. Wash the zucchini and pat it dry with a towel.
STEP 2
Cut clean zucchini into circles/oblong pieces 0.5-0.7 centimeters thick. Don't cut the vegetable too thick, as it may not cook inside, but don't cut it too thin either, as it may lose its shape.
STEP 3
Set the grill to heat up and at this time add salt and pepper to the chopped zucchini. To help the spices stick better to the zucchini pieces, gently pat the top of them with your palm or fingers. Turn the pieces over and repeat the salt and pepper procedure again. Do everything quickly so that the zucchini does not have time to release its juice.
STEP 4
When the grill surface is already well heated, brush it with olive oil using a silicone brush, lay out the circles/oblongs and grill.
STEP 5
Fry the zucchini on both sides for 2-3 minutes until beautiful golden brown stripes form. Since everyone's grill runs at different levels and cooks differently, the cooking time for the zucchini may vary. The main thing is not to let them become soft; zucchini turns out tastier when fried quickly.
STEP 6
Place the fried zucchini on a plate or dish. They do not require any additional decoration, just fresh herbs are enough, so they can already be served. But I prefer to serve them with a sauce made from sour cream, garlic and finely chopped dill, or by placing a little sour cream, finely chopped garlic in the center of each circle and sprinkling dill on top. Try it, it turns out very tasty.
