STEP 1
How to make grated vanilla cake with butter? Prepare the products according to the list. The oil should be at room temperature. Wash the egg and dry with napkins. Combine soft butter with sugar and beat at the highest speed of the mixer for 2-3 minutes. The mass will become fluffier and the sugar will almost dissolve.
STEP 2
Beat a raw egg into the whipped butter and stir until it is evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
STEP 3
Sift the flour through a sieve and add it to the dough in parts in 2-3 batches. Add a pinch of baking soda and vanilla on the tip of a knife. Knead the dough quickly so it doesn't stick to your hands. You may need a little more or less flour. Since this is shortbread dough, you cannot knead it for a long time - this makes it sticky, and the finished products only become tougher. Just mix all the ingredients until smooth. We need the dough to be soft and pliable.
STEP 4
Divide the finished dough into 2 unequal parts. Wrap the smaller portion in cling film and place it in the freezer to harden. This will take at least 30 minutes.
STEP 5
Cover a baking tray with special paper and roll out most of the dough over its entire surface.
STEP 6
Spread any non-liquid jam or jam throughout the dough.
STEP 7
Grate the frozen dough using a coarse or medium grater over the entire surface of the pie. Try not to leave large spaces open; fill them evenly with the grated dough. Place the baking sheet with the pie in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for about 30 minutes. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.
STEP 8
If the oven has a grill, then keep the pie under the grill for another 2-3 minutes until the top of the pie turns golden. Remove the finished pie from the oven and cool slightly. Serve with tea, cocoa, juice or milk. Bon appetit!
