STEP 1
How to bake grass carp in the oven? Prepare the indicated products. It is better to take fresh fish; if the fish is frozen, then it must first be defrosted. In addition to these vegetables, you can take potatoes, bell peppers, onions, etc. Lemon juice is optional; those who don’t like it in fish can omit it. I take dry spices specifically for fish (I have pepper, regan (purple basil), ginger, cilantro). You can use any other spices.
STEP 2
To prepare fish, first clean it of scales, cut it, remove the entrails, wash it in running water and dry it. You can, of course, buy cleaned fish straight away. Make cuts on the spine of the fish with a sharp knife, as if marking out portioned pieces. Rub the fish with oil mixed with lemon juice and dry spices with salt. You can leave the fish to marinate for about 10 minutes.
STEP 3
Wash all selected vegetables in running water, peel, rinse, dry and cut into strips. Heat the frying pan, pour in half the vegetable oil, add salt and fry the vegetables over low heat without covering for 10-15 minutes until half cooked, stir occasionally.
STEP 4
Take a baking dish, place a “pillow” of fried vegetables in it, and place the prepared fish on top. Cover the pan with foil to prevent the vegetables and fish from drying out during cooking and place in the oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30 minutes. The times indicated are approximate, use your oven as a guide.
STEP 5
After 30 minutes, remove the pan with the fish, carefully so as not to burn yourself, remove the foil and put it back in the oven for another 15 minutes.
STEP 6
Serve the finished fish hot with a vegetable side dish. This is quite enough for a light dinner. If you want a more satisfying meal, you can also offer boiled rice or potatoes.
