    How to bake French fries in the oven? Prepare your food. Choose tubers of the same size, then the potatoes will turn out more beautiful and will fry more evenly. Choose refined oil with a high smoke point, as the potatoes will bake at high degrees. I didn't add any spices except salt. You can flavor your potatoes with your favorites.

    Wash and peel the potatoes thoroughly. Dry the tubers thoroughly with paper towels. Excess moisture will prevent the formation of a golden brown crust.

    Cut the potatoes into cubes. I recommend doing this along the tuber so that the pieces are long, like store-bought French fries. Try to keep the bars the same thickness.

    Place the chopped potatoes in a bag. Pour in vegetable oil. Shake the bag thoroughly so that the oil coats each piece. You can skip the bag and do it in a bowl, but the bag results in fewer dirty dishes. Important!!! Do not add salt until the very end of baking! Salt will prevent the formation of a crispy crust!!!

    Take a baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Place potatoes from the bag on it. Distribute the pieces evenly on the baking sheet, trying to keep them in one layer. This way the potatoes will cook more evenly.

    Preheat the oven to 230°C, top-bottom mode. Place the baking tray with potatoes on the middle level. Bake the potatoes for 35 to 45 minutes. Monitor its condition - the potatoes should brown, but not burn. Mine took 40 minutes to bake. Please note how my thin pieces were deeply fried - so the cutting should be the same.

    Remove the potatoes from the oven. And only now salt it and season it with spices, if you use them. Stir the potatoes with a spatula. Serve the fries immediately after cooking while they are crisp. Bon appetit!

I also doubted that it would turn out to be fries. I thought it would be something like country-style potatoes. But! It turned out very similar to fries! We ate it instantly, the children especially appreciated it) I used less oil, the slices were perfectly coated with it. I also salted the prepared potatoes; I didn’t add any spices. These potatoes really look like fries, I'm very surprised. The crust is crispy and the inside is fluffy. The main thing is to preheat the oven to 230 degrees. I'm very pleased with the result. I’ve been baking potatoes in this way for a long time, only instead of a whole egg I take only the white of 1 tsp of olive (or whatever) oil. The calorie content does not increase, but there is a clear taste of fried. Give the yolk to your husband
