Fish soup with tomatoes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to cook delicious fish soup with tomatoes? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Any red fish is suitable: salmon, trout, pink salmon, chum salmon, etc. I have pink salmon. You can replace and supplement the vegetable part to your taste.
STEP 2
Rinse red fish thoroughly. Cut off the fins. Cut the fish into medium pieces. There should be enough meat in the fish. Therefore, it is better to use fillet. I had a large tail, which was enough for soup. If you have a fish head, you can also add it to the soup. Salt and pepper the fish.
STEP 3
Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into medium cubes.
STEP 4
Wash strong ripe tomatoes, dry and cut into slices or circles. I had plum tomatoes. Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well; during cutting and cooking, they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.
STEP 5
Peel the carrots and cut into semicircles. If you wish, you can grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
STEP 6
Cut the onion into small cubes.
STEP 7
Peel the garlic and finely chop it with a knife.
STEP 8
Wash the dill, dry and finely chop. If you wish, you can replace or supplement with other herbs, for example, parsley, green onions, cilantro. You can take a mixture of different greens. The soup will benefit from this.
STEP 9
Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic. Fry until fragrant.
STEP 10
Add potatoes and carrots. Fry, stirring, 5 minutes.
STEP 11
Pour in hot water. Season the soup with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15 minutes until the potatoes are done.
STEP 12
Add fish and tomatoes to the soup. Cook until the fish is ready for about 20 minutes. If necessary, add salt to the soup.
STEP 13
At the end, pour lemon juice into the soup, add chopped herbs and lemon zest. Stir.
STEP 14
Remove the soup from the heat and let it simmer, covered, for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 15
Pour the finished fish soup with tomatoes and lemon into bowls and serve. Bon appetit!
