  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

As a side dish we will prepare mashed potatoes, which are loved by most, especially small children. Cutlets can be made from any meat to taste, but they are tastier from a mixture of pork and beef. Let's start by making mashed potatoes. Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into large pieces of arbitrary shape.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place the potatoes in a saucepan, rinse to remove excess starch, and fill with cold, clean water. We put it on fire. When the water boils, reduce the heat to medium, add a pinch of salt and cook for about 25 minutes, until the potatoes are soft. You can check readiness with a fork or knife.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While the potatoes are cooking, make the cutlets. We thoroughly wash fresh pork and beef meat, dry it with paper towels, cut it into small pieces and grind the meat in a meat grinder. Crumble white bread into a bowl, add milk and let it swell, leave for 15 minutes.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place minced meat in a bowl with bread.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the onion and finely chop it with a knife. Place in a bowl with minced meat. Add salt and ground black pepper to taste. Beat in a chicken egg.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix the mixture thoroughly until it becomes homogeneous in consistency. The minced meat for the cutlets is ready.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The potatoes are cooked. Drain off some of the water in which the potatoes were boiled. Mash the potatoes with the remaining broth with a hand masher or blender until pureed, homogeneous in consistency. Add butter and salt to taste to the puree, mix. Mashed potatoes are ready.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour wheat flour into a plate; it can be replaced with breadcrumbs. With hands moistened in cold water, we form small cutlets from the minced meat, roll each of them in flour on all sides. Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan. Let's warm it up. Place the cooked cutlets in the oil. Fry them for 3 minutes on one side, until golden brown.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Then turn over and fry on the other side until golden brown.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour a little water into the pan so that it covers the cutlets no higher than the middle. Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low and simmer the cutlets for 25 minutes until the liquid has completely evaporated. Remove the lid and let the cutlets dry. Remove the cutlets from the pan and serve with hot mashed potatoes as a side dish. Bon appetit!

Great everyday meal, thanks for the approachable recipe. I cook cutlets a little differently. Instead of bread or loaf, I add oatmeal to the minced meat. Really like!
