Corn casserole with apples and carrots

An interesting and healthy dish made from corn grits. Can be served either cold or hot, with honey, condensed milk or jam for tea or milk.

    Soak corn grits in water at room temperature for 30 minutes.

    Drain the water, add 200 ml of water, bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.

    Add hot milk and cook until tender for another 15-20 minutes.

    Cool the porridge until warm, add sugar and vanillin.

    Grate the carrots and apple on a coarse grater.

    Shake the egg.

    Pour 3/4 of the egg mixture into the porridge and mix thoroughly. Place half of the “dough” in a greased pan and smooth it out.

    Place the filling and sprinkle with additional sugar.

    Spoon the remaining corn mixture on top and drizzle evenly over 1/4 of the egg.

    Bake at 200 degrees until the top is lightly browned. Depending on the thickness of the casserole, 20-30 minutes. Cool completely in the pan, then the casserole will become stronger and will be easy to remove.
