Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr 20 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients. Margarine and eggs must be removed from the refrigerator in advance; we need these products at room temperature to obtain a good “obedient” dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Grind softened margarine with eggs and sugar.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour in the sifted flour, add salt and soda, slaked with vinegar. Knead the soft elastic dough, you need to do this very quickly, and you need to add very little flour for mixing so that the dough does not turn out tight. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest for about an hour in the refrigerator.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

We take out the finished dough, form sausages from it, cut them into small pieces - nuts, taking into account the size depending on the shape.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Roll into balls and make small cakes out of them.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

We heat the mold on a gas stove; it is not necessary to grease it with oil; the dough contains a sufficient amount of margarine, which will melt during frying and lubricate the mold.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place our dough pieces into the recesses of the mold, press down with a lid and fry for about 5 minutes. We check the readiness of the nut shells - they should be golden brown.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

We remove the nuts from the mold, cut off the excess dough with a knife, do not throw them away, we will need them for filling the nuts.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Grind the scraps into crumbs with a rolling pin.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Prepare the cream, add chopped walnuts to the crumbs (leave some of the nuts, breaking them into small pieces), pour in condensed milk, mix.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

We fill both halves of the nuts with the resulting cream, put a piece of walnut in the middle of one, close them, gluing the edges with condensed milk from the cream.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Delicious nuts with condensed milk are ready as in childhood. Enjoy your tea!

Today my daughter and I were preparing for the New Year and baking cookies in a mold on the stove. This year we made a lot of them to treat our relatives. I have an old Soviet uniform with different figures, but we love “nuts” most of all). For the dough, I replaced margarine with butter. I extinguished the baking soda with lemon juice so that it would also have a citrus aroma. It took me a few spoons more flour. I was guided by the consistency of the dough. It turned out soft and pleasant. Half an hour in the refrigerator and started baking. It’s more convenient to roll all the dough into balls at once, it turns out faster. My shells turned out crispy, tasty, aromatic! I used a different filling from condensed milk and butter. Delicious!
