Chicken liver cake
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
We will make liver cake with a layer of stewed vegetables: carrots and onions. I took three carrots and three onions. Peel the carrots and grate them. We also clean the onions and finely chop them. Then put the vegetables in a frying pan, add salt and simmer until done. When stewing, you can add a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil or a small piece of butter. But remember that this will increase the calorie content of the dish. But the taste of vegetables will become more intense.
STEP 2
While the vegetables are stewing, let's prepare the dough. Wash the chicken liver under cold running water. Then leave it in a colander for a while to drain excess water. Place the liver in a blender bowl and grind.
STEP 3
Then add two eggs and two spoons of sour cream. Salt. Mix using a blender.
STEP 4
Pour the resulting mixture into a deep bowl. Pour in half a glass of flour. Stir until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The dough should be thick, similar to pancakes. If it turns out very thick, then it can be diluted with milk or water. If it turns out liquid, then add a little flour.
STEP 5
Pour a little vegetable oil into a heated frying pan. It is better to use a non-stick frying pan. It uses less oil, which means less calories in the dish. Then pour a ladle of liver dough. Fry the cakes on both sides. They bake quite quickly - literally 1.5 - 2 minutes on each side.
STEP 6
Place the finished cakes in a stack. Let them cool a little. I got 12 cakes with a diameter of approximately 13-14 cm.
STEP 7
Peel two cloves of garlic, pass them through a garlic press and mix with 100 grams of mayonnaise. Lubricate the cake with the resulting mixture.
STEP 8
Then place about a couple of tablespoons of stewed vegetables on top. Distribute them evenly over the entire surface of the cake.
STEP 9
Place the next layer on top of the vegetable crust. We also grease it with mayonnaise and garlic. Then again a layer of vegetables.
STEP 10
We do this with all the cakes. At the very end, you can press the cakes down a little. But do it carefully. Decorate the top of the cake with chopped herbs. You can decorate with grated cheese or grate a boiled egg. Liver cake belongs to the category of cold appetizers, so it is advisable to let it stand to soak for at least a couple of hours.
