STEP 1
How to make delicious juicy chicken in soy sauce with honey in the oven? Very simple. To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take the chicken of the weight you need. The amount of marinade I use is designed for a bird weighing 2 kg or more. If you have a bird less than 2 kg, you can reduce the amount of soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil and butter by a third.
STEP 2
Wash the chicken and pat dry with a paper towel or napkins. Season the bird with salt and pepper inside and out. Leave the chicken at room temperature while you prepare the marinade.
STEP 3
Now prepare the necessary ingredients for the marinade. You can add or replace them, keeping the three main ingredients: soy sauce, honey and ginger. You can replace these spices with a ready-made chicken spice mixture, but read the ingredients on the package. Such mixtures usually already contain salt and pepper, so be careful not to oversalt the dish when combined with soy sauce. Vegetable oil - any. I have olive.
STEP 4
In a bowl, mix vegetable and butter, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, curry. Add freshly ground pepper. You can replace dry garlic and ginger with 1 fresh clove of garlic and 2 cm of ginger root, which you need to grate on a fine grater.
STEP 5
Mix everything well. You won’t get a completely homogeneous mixture - small pieces of butter will float on the surface, but during the first minutes of heating in the oven they will melt and the marinade will be homogeneous.
STEP 6
Rub the chicken inside and out with the marinade. Leave the bird to marinate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
STEP 7
And if possible, it is better at night. The longer the meat is marinated, the more tender, tastier, juicier and more aromatic it will be.
STEP 8
Place the chicken in a baking dish and top with marinade if desired. Since I marinated the bird in the same form in which I baked it, I simply turned the carcass breast side up. Bake the chicken in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 1.5 hours. The exact time will depend on your oven and the size of the chicken. Baste the chicken with the juices from the bottom of the pan as often as possible.
STEP 9
Gradually the marinade thickens, forming a delicious crispy honey crust on the surface of the bird. Bon appetit!
