  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make a salad with saury and egg? Prepare your food. It’s better to take natural saury, without adding oil, since the salad will be seasoned with mayonnaise. It’s advisable to take homemade eggs, or in extreme cases, eggs - they are not only large, but most often have a bright orange yolk. Rice, by the way, can be used ready-made, for example, yesterday's leftover from dinner. Choose short grain rice - it is softer.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour boiling water over the chopped onion and leave for 10 minutes, then drain the water. This will make the onion less hot.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Open the canned fish and drain the liquid. Remove the bones from the fish, then mash it with a fork. Other canned fish, such as pink salmon, can also be used in this salad.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add steamed onions to the fish.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Boil the rice. How to cook rice? Rinse the rice well, add cold water in a ratio of 1 to 2 - two cups of water per cup of rice. Salt the water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer with the lid closed for 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let the rice sit for about 15 minutes. It is better to boil the rice and cool it in advance.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add the completely cooled rice to the remaining ingredients.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Boil the eggs hard. Cool, peel and cut into small cubes. Add to salad.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Mix all ingredients. Add salt if necessary: keep in mind that fish and mayonnaise already contain salt.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Season the salad with mayonnaise. I recommend using homemade mayonnaise. It is more natural and tastier. You can replace mayonnaise with sour cream or a mixture of sour cream and natural yogurt.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Serve this tasty, satisfying and aromatic salad right away. Bon appetit!

Today I made a salad of canned saury with egg and rice. I had a jar of herring from canned fish, and I used it for the salad. I drained the brine from the fish and mashed it slightly with a fork. I took a small onion and finely chopped it into cubes. I also cut eggs into cubes. I took round-grain rice for the salad, boiled until tender and cooled. I mixed all the ingredients, added mayonnaise and stirred. I did not add salt. I served the salad by shaping it with my own improvised round shape from a sour cream bucket and decorated it with young spinach leaves on top. The result was a tasty, satisfying salad. My husband appreciated it!

I really love canned food, and saury is one of my favorites. I make salads from it, cutlets and rolls. I liked this recipe and decided to make it. Only I added canned corn and layered everything. The salad was to die for! And the most important thing is that the salad is very quick to prepare, especially if all the ingredients are prepared in advance.
