    Sort the buckwheat, rinse thoroughly until the water is clear and dry. To do this, it is better to place the cereal on a sieve and let all the water drain. Buckwheat can be replaced with any other cereal of your choice. In this case, the cooking time may change in one direction or another. Do not forget that some cereals (for example, pearl barley) require pre-soaking.

    Wash the pork, dry it and cut into small pieces. The pork should be without bones, just the pulp. Choose a part of the carcass according to your taste. This could be a ham, shoulder, carbonate, neck, tenderloin, etc. I have tender pork tenderloin without fat.

    Cut the carrots into small pieces - strips, cubes or circles, like mine.

    Peel the onion and cut into cubes or half rings, as you like. If you or your children do not like onions, you can omit them altogether or replace them with another vegetable, for example, bell pepper.

    Finally, add the garlic and heat everything together for 1 minute. Transfer the roasted vegetables to a bowl.

    Return the pan to medium heat. If necessary, add a little more vegetable oil. Stirring, fry the meat until lightly golden brown. Place the meat in a bowl with the vegetables.

    Add buckwheat to the bowl with the pork and vegetables. Salt, pepper and mix everything.

    Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and level it out. Pour in warm, clean water or broth until it almost completely covers the contents of the mold.

For dinner I usually cook main courses. This time I made buckwheat with meat in the oven. This dish is hearty, tasty and perfect for an evening meal. I really like the cooking method. It turns out almost like in pots. Moreover, I cooked in a glass form with a lid. I first washed the buckwheat well to remove any small debris. The pork was cut into pieces and fried until browned. Then I fried carrots and onions in the same pan. I didn’t chop the vegetables coarsely, I did the usual cutting: onions into small cubes, carrots on a coarse grater. I mixed everything, put it in a mold and filled it with warm water. From the spices I took pork seasoning and salt. I kept it in the oven for an hour. During this time, all the water was absorbed, the buckwheat became crumbly and at the same time juicy, soaked in meat and vegetable juices. Delicious!
