Baked mackerel in mustard sauce

STEP 1

How to bake mackerel in mustard sauce? Prepare your food. Pay special attention to the choice of fish - it should have a uniform, silver-colored skin, a fresh fishy smell, without any odor. The eyes are clean, not cloudy. If you bought frozen fish, then defrost it gradually, preferably in the refrigerator, under no circumstances in water, the fish will lose its beneficial and tasteful qualities.
STEP 2

Cut off the head and tail of the fish, then cut the belly, remove the entrails and black film - it is bitter. Cut the carcass into portions.
STEP 3

Place the fish pieces in a deep bowl.
STEP 4

Peel the onion and cut into half rings.
STEP 5

Prepare mustard sauce. How to make sauce? Mix mustard, mayonnaise, soy sauce, no need to add salt - there is enough of it in the ingredients. Take mustard that is not very spicy and tasty, otherwise reduce its quantity.
STEP 6

The result will be a sauce of uniform consistency.
STEP 7

Add onion and mustard sauce to the mackerel and stir. Leave the fish to marinate for 20-30 minutes (longer is possible).
STEP 8

Place the fish along with the sauce and onions in a baking dish.
STEP 9

Bake the dish at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
STEP 10

Serve hot fish with a side dish or as a separate dish. Mackerel goes well with potatoes and rice. It is also delicious served cold. Bon appetit!
