  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake mackerel in mustard sauce? Prepare your food. Pay special attention to the choice of fish - it should have a uniform, silver-colored skin, a fresh fishy smell, without any odor. The eyes are clean, not cloudy. If you bought frozen fish, then defrost it gradually, preferably in the refrigerator, under no circumstances in water, the fish will lose its beneficial and tasteful qualities.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut off the head and tail of the fish, then cut the belly, remove the entrails and black film - it is bitter. Cut the carcass into portions.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the fish pieces in a deep bowl.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the onion and cut into half rings.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Prepare mustard sauce. How to make sauce? Mix mustard, mayonnaise, soy sauce, no need to add salt - there is enough of it in the ingredients. Take mustard that is not very spicy and tasty, otherwise reduce its quantity.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The result will be a sauce of uniform consistency.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add onion and mustard sauce to the mackerel and stir. Leave the fish to marinate for 20-30 minutes (longer is possible).

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the fish along with the sauce and onions in a baking dish.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Bake the dish at 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Serve hot fish with a side dish or as a separate dish. Mackerel goes well with potatoes and rice. It is also delicious served cold. Bon appetit!

For this recipe, baked mackerel in mustard sauce, I took a fairly large fish carcass, cut it in half lengthwise, and then crosswise into several pieces. For the sauce, I mixed mayonnaise, soy sauce and grainy mustard in a bowl. I will bake mackerel in a clay pot. I put all the fish in a pot, poured it with sauce, closed the lid and put it in the oven over low heat. I didn’t add onion to the fish, I forgot)). After about 20 minutes you could already smell the pleasant aroma of baked fish. After waiting another 5 minutes, I pulled the pot out of the oven, the mackerel was baked, formed a beautiful dark golden color, the sauce was absorbed into the fish, due to this it turned out very juicy and tender. Mackerel according to this recipe is an excellent option for dinner, and it’s not even a shame to put such a dish on the holiday table. Thanks for the recipe.

I really wanted to eat fish, so I bought mackerel and cooked it according to this recipe. Previously, I cooked exclusively in soy sauce, but here I combined mustard, mayonnaise, soy sauce, and onions. The marinade turned out to be excellent, it is very aromatic and rich. The preparation is absolutely simple. The hardest part of this recipe is cleaning the fish. Then into the marinade and into the oven. Great recipe! The baked mackerel in mustard sauce turned out great. It is aromatic, juicy, tender and very tasty. Eating fish in this sauce is a pleasure. Mackerel has few bones, which is another advantage. Therefore, we really enjoyed savoring fish for dinner. Insanely delicious sauce that I poured over the side dish. And the onion perfectly complemented the mackerel. I recommend everyone to try it. Many thanks to the author 😊
