Armenian Nazuk - cookies

Try the crumbly Nazuk with nut filling - you'll want more! Nazuk – baked goods of Armenian cuisine. Nazuk can be sweet or salty, with a buttery flour filling. I prepared sweet Nazuk with nut filling. It’s easy to prepare, it doesn’t take much time, and the result is a tasty, crumbly, crispy, moderately sweet cookie.

Favorite puff pastries, which are not quite puff pastries, have a familiar taste from childhood, they still smell very nice, they used to be sold in threes at a time. The dough can be slightly modified by adding milk instead of sour cream, a little shafan (literally on the tip of a knife), and putting vanillin directly into the dough, and not into the filling.

ABOUT! This is yummy! I also bake these rolls, but I didn’t know that they were called “nazuk”. I put three types of nuts, raisins, prunes, dried apricots in the filling.

I think that these rolls have different names. Now I found a recipe on Khrumka that is similar in preparation, but without yeast and is also smeared with jam, it’s called Gata with peanuts and sesame seeds.
