Rice porridge on water
In fact, rice porridge on water is a side dish for any main course, regardless of what it is based on - meat, fish, chicken, mushrooms or seafood. It can be made crumbly, viscous, thick, liquid. And cook in a saucepan on the stove, in a slow cooker, in a clay pot in the oven or in the microwave.
The classic recipe for rice porridge with water has been known for a long time and is probably familiar to every housewife from her mother or grandmother. Rice washed in several waters and cleared of debris is poured with cold or hot water in a ratio of 1:3. And cook over medium heat for about twenty minutes. Periodically you need to remove the foam that forms so that the porridge is clean. The readiness of the cereal is determined by how cooked the rice is. It may take more or less time to cook it - it depends on the hardness and type of grains.
During the cooking process, salt and sugar are added to the porridge to taste. Or any other sweetener: honey, molasses, syrup, sweetener. To make the porridge more fluffy and tender, add a piece of butter to the already prepared porridge and let it brew under the lid for ten minutes. Instead of butter, you can put any vegetable oil or do without oil at all. With it, the porridge will become more shiny and beautiful.
In this form, rice porridge on water can be served as an independent dish for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And also as a side dish.
