  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook funeral kutia? Prepare your food. Take the rice that you like best and that you know how to cook so that it remains crumbly, take the raisins without seeds (light raisins look more appetizing).

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rice needs to be rinsed well with water in several waters, it is better to use warm water for this (I learned this lifehack from one Uzbek cook who was preparing pilaf - rice washed in warm water and filled with warm water until it is used does not crumble and turns out crumbly after cooking).

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Rinse the round rice well in warm water, you can keep it in it for a while - then it will cook faster and more evenly.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour water over the rice and cook until done; it is important not to forget about the proportions of cooking the cereal - 1 cup of rice requires 2 cups of water. Once boiling, cook over low heat so that the rice cooks evenly. You can use a microwave for cooking - cook in it without a lid at maximum power for 10 minutes (I have an 800 kW microwave), then add salt to taste and cook until done at medium power, adding water if necessary.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

The light raisins taken for the recipe also need to be rinsed well; for this it is better to use hot water, because... dried fruits have an oily coating that covers them for better storage. And hot water will wash it off better, then pour boiling water over the raisins and let them swell, and then drain the water using a sieve and blot with a paper towel.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place butter in a frying pan.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add sugar and prepared raisins. Bring the mass to a light boil - the sugar dissolves in the oil and a caramel mass is obtained that covers the steamed raisins.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

The caramelized raisins are ready, we will use them to season our kutya. Keep in mind that these raisins are very sweet, and additional addition of caramel makes the whole mass even sweeter, so adjust the taste of the kutia by the amount of raisins added.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The rice is cooked, it should be crumbly and not watery.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Season the kutya with caramelized raisins and mix.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

It is customary to serve kutya made from rice with raisins at the funeral table in small deep bowls, placing them evenly around the table along with honey and pancakes.

A very simple recipe for memorial Kutya with rice raisins for a funeral. Thank you. There is nothing complicated with caramel. But I took into account the wishes of the previous speaker and first fried the sugar, and then threw in the raisins. The dish was decorated with pieces of jelly sweets.

I prepared it according to the recipe, but it would probably be better to first melt the butter and sugar to caramel, and then add the raisins. My raisins started to fry, so I didn’t get much of the brown caramel. But in the end it still turned out very tasty. Although there is a sad reason to get acquainted with the dish - a funeral. I think I will definitely make kutya for other holidays. Christmas is just around the corner :))
