Buckwheat with vegetables
For buckwheat with vegetables, you can use absolutely any product. This dish is democratic and variable. Its taste depends on the constituent ingredients and changes at will. You can prepare a completely vegetarian version, and you can please meat eaters. Add mushrooms, legumes, cereals.
The easiest way to cook buckwheat with vegetables for a quick dinner, for which you will need a saucepan, buckwheat and vegetables that are in the refrigerator.
First, fry the onion and grated carrots in oil. If desired, add bell peppers, garlic, and tomatoes. Add the washed buckwheat and fry everything together for about five minutes, stirring. Then pour in boiling water and simmer under a closed lid until cooked. This will take 15-20 minutes. The exact time will depend on the thickness of the pan: the thicker it is, the better it holds the temperature, the less time is needed. Add salt and dry spices at the end of cooking.
This dish is served either as an independent dish or as a side dish for meat.
Another cooking option differs from the first. Buckwheat is cooked separately, and only then mixed with vegetables in a common bowl. Or directly on the plate.
You can also bake the cereal in the oven, turning it into either a stew or a casserole. Or do it in a slow cooker or pressure cooker.
Buckwheat goes well with almost all types of vegetables, from simple and familiar ones to rarer and less popular ones. For example, turnips, radishes, all types of cabbage, pumpkin, zucchini, eggplant, avocado, celery, corn.
