Zebra pie in a slow cooker

The most unusual sweet pastries made from ordinary products. Zebra pie in a slow cooker is so good that it’s better to start getting acquainted with the striped dessert with it. It takes very little time to prepare and knead the dough, and then the technique works. The cake rises well and bakes evenly.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make Zebra pie in a slow cooker? Prepare your food. For the dough to rise well, all ingredients must be at room temperature. Therefore, remove eggs, sour cream and butter from the refrigerator in advance. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content; choose it and butter of the best quality, without vegetable fats in the composition.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First of all, melt the butter. This can be done in any way. I microwaved it in short bursts. Read about other methods at the end of the recipe.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Beat the eggs into a deep bowl. Add sugar and beat with a mixer at high speed until fluffy and light.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sour cream and melted butter to the egg mixture. Mix them with a mixer at low speed.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add baking powder to the flour and stir. Sift it into the liquid products, set aside two tablespoons of flour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix the flour until completely smooth using a hand whisk.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Divide the dough into two equal parts. Pour cocoa into one and the reserved flour into the other. This way you will make both parts the same consistency.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Stir the dough until smooth. It should have the consistency of thick sour cream. If the dough is too thick, pour a little warm milk into it.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Grease the multicooker bowl with a piece of butter. Begin alternately placing one tablespoon of each color of dough into the center of the bowl. A spoonful of brown, a spoonful of light on it, brown again and so on. Under the weight, the circles will begin to spread, forming a striped pattern.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Lay out all the dough in this way, shaking the bowl slightly so that the pattern is even. Place the bowl in the multicooker and close the lid. Set it to a setting suitable for baking. I call it “Baking”, your model may have a different name. Set the time to 65 minutes.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Bake the pie until the signal, then check it for doneness. If the inside of the pie is still raw (pierce the center with a wooden skewer), then bake it for another 20 minutes. After the signal is ready, open the lid and leave the cake to cool slightly. Then remove it from the bowl. Cool the pie on a wire rack.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Serve the cake sprinkled with powdered sugar or chocolate glaze. You can also cut it into layers and layer it with cream to create a cake. Bon appetit!

I baked a similar pie many years ago, but now I decided to fill this gap and bake a Zebra pie in a slow cooker. The author described the cooking process in detail, I did not deviate from it. In my opinion, the dough turned out a bit thick, so I added a little milk on the author’s advice, and next time I’ll probably just use less flour. I baked it in the “baking” mode for 45 minutes at a temperature of 150 degrees, then added another 20 minutes. The cake turned out fluffy, soft, and moderately moist. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe, katushafin!

I made the Zebra pie in a slow cooker the first time, as the author of the recipe promised us. In general, I like baking in a slow cooker more than baking in the oven, if only because I don’t test it at all. Just throw in the dough, install the program and wait for it to beep.
