Turkey stew with vegetables
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make turkey stewed in a pan with vegetables? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. If lunch or dinner is being prepared for a large family, then you can use a whole turkey carcass; for a small portion, any part of the turkey will suffice. If desired, olive oil can be replaced with regular sunflower or other vegetable oil. It is important that the oil is refined. Cut the fillet into small pieces and rinse the meat.
STEP 2
Prepare the vegetables. Peel the onions and chop finely with a knife.
STEP 3
Wash the carrots, peel and cut into medium cubes.
STEP 4
Wash the zucchini. If the zucchini is young, its skin is young, and the core with seeds has not yet formed, then they can only be washed and immediately cut into small cubes. Remove skins and seeds from more mature fruits.
STEP 5
Wash the bell pepper, cut it into two parts and cut out the stalk with seeds. Cut the pulp of the peppers with a knife into strips or cubes, as you prefer.
STEP 6
Peel the garlic cloves and finely chop them with a knife, grate them or pass them through a press.
STEP 7
Wash the tomatoes and cut out the place where the stalk attaches. Cut the tomato pulp into cubes. If you don’t like it when you get tomato skins in your dish, you can remove them. To do this, make cross cuts on the top of the fruit with a sharp knife. Place the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then remove, cool slightly and remove the skin.
STEP 8
Heat olive oil in a frying pan. Read about how to choose the ideal frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place turkey meat in heated oil and fry it for several minutes over high heat until all the moisture evaporates and the meat browns slightly.
STEP 9
Place the prepared onions and carrots into the frying pan with the meat. Fry the vegetables over medium heat, stirring until the carrots are soft. Then add the remaining vegetables to the frying pan with the onions and carrots and stir. Add salt to taste and black peppercorns and mix again. Fry everything together over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
STEP 10
Pour in a glass of clean water, stir and simmer under the lid for about 20 minutes. The exact time depends on the selected frying pan and the operating characteristics of your stove. Let the prepared vegetables and meat stand under the lid, then place the dish on plates and serve, sprinkling chopped fresh herbs on top if desired. Bon appetit!
