  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to stew trout in tomato sauce in a frying pan? Prepare the products according to the list. Instead of trout, it is permissible to take any fish. If you have frozen trout, you should first defrost it. Gut the carcass and remove scales. Cut off the tail and head. If you plan to cook broth from them in the future, remove the gills from the head.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel and rinse onions, carrots and garlic. At this stage, you can use any vegetables of your choice, for example, broccoli, bell peppers, Brussels sprouts, zucchini, etc. Take a frying pan with high edges, pour in vegetable oil and heat it well. Chop the onion into cubes, the carrots into semicircles or circles, and cut the garlic in half or smaller. Place the vegetables in boiling oil and fry, stirring, until golden brown.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour in white wine, stir and leave for a minute or two.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cut the fish into steaks, as in the photo.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Pour tomato sauce into the fried vegetables. Instead of sauce, you can use sautéed tomatoes, fresh tomatoes or ketchup. Salt everything to taste, add dry rosemary, ground peppers and other favorite seasonings. For a more balanced taste, I usually add a pinch of sugar. Mix everything, add a little water if necessary (literally 3-4 tbsp). Leave covered over low heat for 5-10 minutes. Don't forget to stir occasionally.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place trout pieces in aromatic sauce. Cover with a lid and simmer in the sauce until done. 20 minutes was enough for me.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

After 10 minutes, turn each piece over to the other side so that the fish is covered in tomato sauce. At the end of cooking, sprinkle with finely chopped herbs if desired.

Very tasty both hot and cold!
