  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make sweet cucumbers for the winter without sterilization? Take all the necessary products from the list. The leaves must be fresh and the umbrellas can be dry. Choose fresh, unspoiled, small cucumbers. Read about the intricacies of preparing winter preparations and sterilization methods in separate articles at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the cucumbers thoroughly under running water. Then put the cucumbers in a container and cover with plenty of cold water for about 3-4 hours. During this time, the cucumbers will be saturated with water, which will make them even more tasty and crunchy.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

While the cucumbers are in the water, prepare the jars for rolling the pickles. Rinse them thoroughly with hot water and baking soda or detergent and scald with boiling water. Then place it upside down on a clean towel to drain. Cover the lids with water and boil in a saucepan.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the garlic, rinse and separate into cloves. Rinse dill umbrellas, currant, cherry and horseradish leaves with water, or pour boiling water over them. Then dry it by laying it on a towel.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

After the cucumbers have sat and soaked in water, remove them and cut off the ends. Place the washed herbs and garlic in clean prepared jars, leaving a couple of cloves.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Then fold the cucumbers tightly so that there is almost no free space left. Also place dill umbrellas between the cucumbers, leaving some for later.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Boil clean water in a medium-sized saucepan and pour it over the cucumbers in jars. Cover the jars with clean lids and leave in this position for 7-10 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then drain the cucumbers into the sink and fill them with hot boiling water again. Add peppercorns, remaining dill and garlic cloves to the jars. Cover the jars with lids and leave for about 5 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Drain the water from the cucumbers again, but back into the pan and prepare the brine. To do this, put salt and sugar in a saucepan and stir. Bring the contents of the pan to a boil and pour table vinegar into the hot brine. Then remove the pan from the heat.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour hot brine over the cucumbers in jars.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Immediately seal the jars with clean, sterile lids.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Turn the jars over, wrap them up and let cool. Sweet cucumbers are ready! After cooling, transfer the jars to a dark and cool place for storage. Good luck with your preparations!

I made sweet cucumbers for the winter without sterilization. I also usually pickle cucumbers using the double-fill method without sterilization, so I don’t even doubt the excellent result. The proportions of salt, sugar and vinegar in the recipe are slightly different from mine, but it’s even more interesting, we’ll try it in winter))) Out of habit, I added a few oak leaves to the set of greens. Thanks for the recipe, Elephant!
