Strudel with aromatic pear in creamy glaze

Deliciously tasty and aromatic pastries - it doesn't get any better! Baking pear strudel from puff pastry is not difficult, because the dough used is ready-made store-bought dough. All that remains is to fry the pears with spices and form a roll. And the oven will do the rest. Try it and you won't regret it!

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 1 hr 20 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare the dough. Sift the flour into a deep bowl, make a well in the center, pour warm water into it and add salt. Mix the dough. Beat in a C2 category chicken egg and continue kneading the dough. To make the dough elastic, knead it with your hands for 10 minutes. Cover the finished dough with cling film and leave the dough to “rest” for 30 minutes.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Prepare the aromatic pear filling. Cut the washed pears into small cubes, transfer them to a frying pan and fry in butter. During the frying process, add granulated sugar, nutmeg and ground cinnamon, mix and let the pears caramelize.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Take the dough, knead it with your hands and use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a thin rectangular layer.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the aromatic pear filling on a rectangular layer of dough, leaving the edges of the dough empty, and wrap the dough into a roll, folding the edges so that they completely cover the filling. During baking, the filling should not leak out of the strudel. We make notches on top.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the assembled strudel on a baking sheet, covering it with baking paper or placing a special baking mat on it. Beat the egg with a fork and brush the strudel with it using a pastry brush. Place the baking sheet with the strudel in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for 40 minutes.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Prepare the creamy glaze. Pour 20% cream into a ladle, add sugar and bring the cream to a boil. After which, reduce the heat and cook the glaze for 20 minutes, stirring constantly. At the end of cooking, add butter and add vanilla sugar, stir and remove from heat.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

We take the finished strudel with pears out of the oven, transfer it to a board, pour hot creamy glaze over it and sprinkle with almond petals. When serving, cut the strudel into portions and serve with tea.

Puff pastry always comes in handy when you need to quickly bake something for tea. I made pear strudel from puff pastry. It turned out just incredibly delicious! While the dough was defrosting, I prepared the filling. Wash the pears and cut them into small cubes. Melt butter in a frying pan, add pears, sugar, cinnamon and simmer everything together. The aroma was amazing! I rolled out the dough, laid out the filling, and rolled it up. I brushed the top with beaten yolk and put it in the oven for 30 minutes at 200°. Strudel with pear made from puff pastry is a delicious and aromatic pastry! Everyone really liked it. Thanks Maria for the recipe!
