You can use the whole turkey or any part of it, for example, thigh fillet, or take part of the carcass along with the bones, it’s a matter of taste and the desired volume of the dish. We wash the turkey meat and cut it into small cubes, if it is a turkey loin, or divide the carcass into small pieces.

    Wash the potatoes, peel them and cut them with a knife into cubes or small pieces of any shape.

    Wash the carrots, peel and cut into strips or cubes. Anyone who doesn’t like pieces of carrots in a finished dish can simply grate them; the carrots in the finished dish will be visually almost invisible, but will improve the taste of the dish. But it’s better to grate half of the carrots and use it for frying and adding to the dish, and cut the second part into cubes; the carrots will make the dish more beautiful. Peel the onions and cut them into small cubes.

    Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan (it is better to use a deep cast-iron frying pan or a frying pan with a thick bottom). To make the dish more healthy and delicious in taste, vegetable oil can be replaced with olive oil. Turn on the heat and heat the oil. Place cooked onions and carrots on it. Fry the vegetables, stirring with a wooden spatula, until soft.

    Add the cooked turkey meat to the pan with the vegetables. Fry the meat and vegetables without a lid over medium heat, stirring with a spatula, until the meat begins to turn white. At this stage, there is no need to add juice so that the meat does not release juice ahead of time. Pour a glass of hot water into the frying pan. It is necessary to use hot water so that the meat does not shrink due to temperature changes. Now add spices: salt and ground black pepper to taste.

    If desired, you can use any other dry seasonings and herbs. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the turkey and vegetables over low heat for about 30 minutes. At the end of stewing, the dish can be sprinkled with finely chopped fresh herbs on top. Then mix the potatoes with the meat and turn off the heat. Let the dish sit under the lid for about 15 minutes and you can serve it.

I really wanted stewed potatoes with meat, so I decided to cook a delicious dinner on the stove. There was only homemade pork in the freezer. I used this recipe for stewed potatoes with turkey, but instead of turkey I used pork. The aroma is magnificent! I sprinkled the finished dish with chopped dill. It turned out amazing. The meat (I used homemade pork, not turkey) just melted in my mouth, it was so tender and soft. The potatoes were stewed perfectly and were not overcooked. I found a recipe for stewed potatoes with turkey. I had chicken breast. Why not try it. Moreover, this is not a very familiar method; for the first time, I fried potatoes before combining them with meat. I did all the manipulations: peeled, crumbled, fried and left on the stove for an hour. The potatoes turned out soft, but did not fall apart. It looked very appetizing when served.
