  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make soda cakes in a frying pan? First, prepare the necessary ingredients from the list. Use premium flour. If you wish, you can add a little sugar to the dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Heat the water to a temperature of 37-43°C. It should be warm, not hot. If the water is hot, the flour will boil and the dough will not be airy. Pour warm water into a bowl, add baking soda and salt. Stir until the crystals dissolve.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add flour sifted through a sieve. If you are making flatbreads for the first time, it is better to add flour gradually and watch the consistency. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need more or less. Therefore, to prevent the dough from becoming rubbery, add flour in parts.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    Knead soft, elastic dough.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Divide the dough into 4 equal parts. I used 75 g of dough for each part. Roll out each part with a rolling pin or stretch it with your hands into a small round cake with a diameter of about 10 cm. Prepare the remaining cakes in the same way.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the flatbread and fry on both sides until golden brown. It will take about 2 minutes to fry each side, so don't go too far from the stove.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the finished soda cakes on a plate and serve. Bon appetit!

I made soda cakes for tea. This required the simplest products. I took warm water for the test. I added salt and soda to it, stirred it, then began to gradually add flour. The dough turned out soft and elastic. She easily formed small balls out of it, and then rolled them out with a rolling pin, making thin flat cakes. I fried the flat cakes in soda in a frying pan for 2 minutes on each side. As they warmed up, they became plump before our eyes, small bubbles swelled under the crust. The top of the flatbreads were browned, covered with a crispy crust, but the inside remained quite soft. I stacked the finished flatbreads on a plate. The buttery crust of the top flatbread glistened very appetizingly. I tried it - how delicious! I thought that both sweet and salty additions would go well with the flatbreads. For example, cheese, which can be sprinkled on the top of the flatbread, or spices - Provencal or Italian herbs. It will be delicious! Thank you very much for the recipe!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE RECIPE for soda pancakes in a frying pan! The results turned out to be simply unrealistically delicious flatbreads!!! It was simply impossible to tear my husband away from them! With honey and tea - mmmmm... True, I somehow lost sight of the fact that the flatbreads had to be rolled out to a thickness of 3-4mm and I rolled them out thinly, almost until transparent.

The recipe and taste of quick soda cakes mixed with water have been familiar to me since childhood. Mom cooked them for us very often. It was an excellent addition to first courses, and sometimes such flatbreads were served instead of dessert. Yes, yes, exactly instead of dessert. Ate with tea or milk. These are unforgettable delicious and warm memories. It’s very easy to prepare these flatbreads in a frying pan and all the ingredients are available. Be sure to try it! Tip...when you put them in the pan, to avoid bubbles, you need to pierce the tortillas in several places with a fork.

Soda cakes are easy to prepare, even a novice cook can handle them. The dough is kneaded from a minimum of ingredients that are always available at home. Vegetable oil makes the dough soft, so do not neglect this ingredient. Thank you!
