Small frozen octopuses in a frying pan with potatoes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to fry small frozen octopuses in a frying pan with potatoes? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Remove the octopuses from the freezer in advance, transfer them to a container and place them in the refrigerator so that the seafood defrosts more gently. Proper defrosting will preserve nutrients, taste, color and composition of useful elements.
STEP 2
Rinse thawed small octopuses thoroughly under running water, be sure to rinse the insides of the head, as they may contain remnants of ice pieces and other marine contaminants. Do not peel the skin of small octopuses under any circumstances; they are still very young and their skin has not yet hardened. Leaving the skin untouched will add the aroma and taste of the sea to the dish.
STEP 3
Pour water into the pan, add 2-3 slices of lemon and put the pan on the fire. When the water boils, carefully place the cleaned octopuses into the boiling water. Under the influence of boiling water, the tentacles of the octopuses will immediately begin to curl up. Remove the resulting foam using a slotted spoon. Cook the octopuses over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Please note that when cooking, there is no need to salt the water, as salt prevents the octopuses from boiling evenly.
STEP 4
Then remove the pan from the heat and let the octopus cool directly in the broth - this way the temperature will drop slowly and the octopus will cook evenly, while the skin will remain intact. When the water and the seafood itself have cooled, remove the lemon slices from the pan, tip the octopuses into a colander and let all the broth drain.
STEP 5
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and boil them after boiling for 15 minutes. Then drain the water and let it cool slightly. If you were unable to purchase mini potatoes, use regular ones, you will just need to peel them, cut them into smaller pieces and boil them in the same way.
STEP 6
Pour vegetable oil into the frying pan and let it heat up. Over medium heat, fry the mini potatoes until they form a nice golden brown crust. Place the fried potatoes in a bowl.
STEP 7
In the same frying pan where you fried the potatoes, fry the finely chopped garlic.
STEP 8
As soon as the delicious garlic aroma appears, add boiled octopus, fried potatoes, your favorite spices and salt to the aromatic garlic oil in a frying pan. Stir and fry a little over low heat so that the products are saturated with garlic aroma and spices.
STEP 9
Transfer the finished dish to a plate and sprinkle chopped herbs and hot pepper on top.
