  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a simple cherry pie in the oven? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take premium flour. You can replace sour cream with kefir. but keep in mind that such a replacement may affect the amount of flour. Adjust sugar according to your taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the cherries, dry them and remove the pits. The net weight should be approximately 500 g, so take extra cherries. You can use frozen or canned cherries instead of fresh ones. Frozen or canned berries need to be thoroughly dried so that the dough bakes well around them.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Melt the butter first on the stove or in the microwave and cool to room temperature.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Beat the eggs with sugar into a fluffy foam. The airiness of your cake depends on how you beat the eggs. You can’t beat the mixture until it’s white and thick—the whites will lose the air bubbles that lift the dough. And in this case, even soda will not help. The dough will either not rise at all or rise very weakly.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add sour cream to the beaten eggs and mix with a mixer at low speed.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour melted butter into the dough and stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Sift the flour with soda and add the dough in parts, stirring each time with a mixer at low speed. You may need more or less flour, so focus on the consistency of the dough. It should be quite viscous.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with oiled parchment or in a baking dish (diameter 24-28 cm). If you bake the pie on a baking sheet, the pie will be thinner and you can simply place the cherries on top. If you bake in a mold, first put some of the dough into the mold and smooth it out. Scatter half the berries on top.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cover them with the remaining dough and place the second part of the cherry on top. Cover them with the remaining dough and place the second part of the cherry on top. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30-35 minutes if making it on a baking sheet, and about 50 minutes in a baking dish .The exact time depends on your oven and the thickness of the cake. Check doneness with a skewer - it should come out dry.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Cool the finished pie slightly, transfer to a dish and serve. Bon appetit!

The other day I accidentally defrosted some pitted cherries and decided to bake some kind of pie. I laid out the cherries on a paper towel in advance to absorb excess moisture. In my piggy bank I had a recipe for a simple cherry pie in the oven. I liked the composition, and the dough is very easy to knead. By the way, there was a lot of dough, so I decided to bake it in a flat, wide pan; I usually make pizza in it. And I laid out the cherries on the surface. The pie was baked for 40 minutes until golden brown. Despite the wide shape, the cake turned out to be quite tall and fluffy. It is slightly moist, tender, porous. The sweetness of the dough goes well with the cherry sourness. The pie is delicious, everyone loved it!

I love cherry pies and I liked the recipe for its simplicity. I made a simple cherry pie in the oven for dessert for the whole family, replacing the oven with a slow cooker. Since my oven has been making dried cherries for several days now) I used fresh cherries, choosing the pits. I prepared the dough exactly according to the recipe. I melted the butter in the microwave, which is more familiar to me. I used 15% sour cream. It really turned out to be a sticky dough. I put the dough in a bowl, laid out the cherries and cooked in the “baking” mode for 40 minutes. I didn’t have time to sprinkle it with powdered sugar; it was still hot and they had already cut it. It smells incredibly delicious))) This recipe turned out to be a wonderful pie. The dough is airy, tender and soft. The sweet biscuit is perfectly complemented by sour cherries. Thanks to the author!!! Great recipe! I recommend it to everyone!
