Simple cherry pie in the oven
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a simple cherry pie in the oven? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take premium flour. You can replace sour cream with kefir. but keep in mind that such a replacement may affect the amount of flour. Adjust sugar according to your taste.
STEP 2
Wash the cherries, dry them and remove the pits. The net weight should be approximately 500 g, so take extra cherries. You can use frozen or canned cherries instead of fresh ones. Frozen or canned berries need to be thoroughly dried so that the dough bakes well around them.
STEP 3
Melt the butter first on the stove or in the microwave and cool to room temperature.
STEP 4
Beat the eggs with sugar into a fluffy foam. The airiness of your cake depends on how you beat the eggs. You can’t beat the mixture until it’s white and thick—the whites will lose the air bubbles that lift the dough. And in this case, even soda will not help. The dough will either not rise at all or rise very weakly.
STEP 5
Add sour cream to the beaten eggs and mix with a mixer at low speed.
STEP 6
Pour melted butter into the dough and stir.
STEP 7
Sift the flour with soda and add the dough in parts, stirring each time with a mixer at low speed. You may need more or less flour, so focus on the consistency of the dough. It should be quite viscous.
STEP 8
Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with oiled parchment or in a baking dish (diameter 24-28 cm). If you bake the pie on a baking sheet, the pie will be thinner and you can simply place the cherries on top. If you bake in a mold, first put some of the dough into the mold and smooth it out. Scatter half the berries on top.
STEP 9
Cover them with the remaining dough and place the second part of the cherry on top. Cover them with the remaining dough and place the second part of the cherry on top. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30-35 minutes if making it on a baking sheet, and about 50 minutes in a baking dish .The exact time depends on your oven and the thickness of the cake. Check doneness with a skewer - it should come out dry.
STEP 10
Cool the finished pie slightly, transfer to a dish and serve. Bon appetit!
