Sheep Cake
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
Ingredients for cream.
STEP 2
In a saucepan, grind the yolks with sugar.
STEP 3
Add flour and mix.
STEP 4
Pour in milk, stirring constantly. Place the pan on the fire and, stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a boil.
STEP 5
As soon as the first bubbles appear on the surface of the cream, add coconut flakes and mix thoroughly. We send the pan back to the heat and bring it to a boil again (but do not boil).
STEP 6
Remove the finished cream from the heat, add the butter and stir until it is completely dissolved. Leave to cool.
STEP 7
I prepared the biscuit in advance. You can take a ready-made sponge cake and prepare it according to the proportions that I indicated. I got a sponge cake with a small cap, I cut it off and from this part I cut out the ears for the sheep.
STEP 8
Cut the finished biscuit into 2-3 parts.
STEP 9
For impregnation, I used tangerine juice. But you can use regular sugar syrup. Squeeze the juice out of 2 tangerines.
STEP 10
Pour the juice into the pan, add powdered sugar (to taste) and a few tablespoons of plain water (optional). Place on the fire and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
STEP 11
Assembling the cake. Take part of the biscuit and soak it in syrup.
STEP 12
Spread half the coconut cream. Cover with the second part of the sponge cake, soak it and grease with the rest of the cream.
STEP 13
Cover with the last part of the biscuit.
STEP 14
For decoration.
STEP 15
Add a drop of pink coloring to the heavy cream.
STEP 16
Whip the cream with powdered sugar until thick.
STEP 17
Cover the surface of the cake with a thin layer of butter cream.
STEP 18
We decorate the sides with curls and pipe them using a pastry bag with a star tip.
STEP 19
We also make a bang on top in the form of curls. And attach the ears. I cut them out of a biscuit cap that I was leveling. If your sponge cake turned out even (this is very good) and there are no pieces, you can make ears from ready-made sponge cookies or when you bake the sponge cake, put a couple of spoons of dough into muffin tins, and you can also cut out ears from marshmallows (it’s better to take pink) . I attached the ears to toothpicks and coated them with cream on top.
STEP 20
In order to make a nose and tint the middle of the ears, 1 tbsp. l. Tint the cream a more intense pink color.
STEP 21
We make a nose with rich pink cream (put the cream in a tight bag and cut off a corner, this will make it easier to deposit the cream) and tint the middle of the ears. We draw the eyes and mouth with melted chocolate (for convenience, we also use a thick bag). The cake is ready. Let it soak for several hours and serve.
