Lazy honey cake without rolling out the cakes
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make a lazy honey cake without rolling out the cake layers? First, prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it has time to soften. Also remove the milk from the refrigerator in advance; it should be at room temperature. Be sure to sift the flour to saturate it with oxygen, then the baked goods will rise well during baking. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.
STEP 2
Place soft butter, honey, sugar and baking soda in a saucepan and place over low heat. Read the article at the end of the recipe about using baking soda in baking.
STEP 3
Cook the mixture for about 5 minutes with constant stirring. When the honey reacts with the baking soda and begins to foam, remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool.
STEP 4
Pour the resulting mixture into another container. When it has cooled, add eggs, pour in milk at room temperature, add salt, vanilla sugar and sifted flour. You may need a little less or more flour, use consistency as a guide. Read about the properties of flour at the end of this recipe.
STEP 5
The consistency of the dough should be smooth, without lumps and resemble thick sour cream.
STEP 6
Take a heat-resistant rectangular pan with high sides (mine is 25 by 25 cm). Grease the bottom and sides with refined vegetable oil with a high smoking point or cover with oiled paper and pour the dough into it. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake the crust for about 30-40 minutes. The times are approximate, use your oven as a guide. Read more about ovens in the article at the end of the recipe.
STEP 7
The cake turns out fluffy. Check its readiness with a wooden skewer. Use it to pierce the pastry in several places; if the skewer comes out dry, it’s ready. Remove the pan and leave the cake to cool without removing it from the container so as not to break it.
STEP 8
Cut the cooled cake lengthwise into 4 pieces. The top of the biscuit can be carefully cut off, crumbled and lightly dried in the oven. This crumb will be useful for sprinkling the cake.
STEP 9
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the cream. Take thick sour cream with a fat content of 20-30%. Place the sour cream in a deep bowl, add powdered sugar, a pinch of vanilla and beat with a mixer for 5-6 minutes or stir with a spoon for 10-15 minutes.
STEP 10
Spread the sour cream over the cakes, stacking them on top of each other.
STEP 11
Also coat the top and sides of the cake with cream.
STEP 12
For decoration, you can place a small heart-shaped mold in the center. Sprinkle around with prepared biscuit crumbs. The heart should remain white.
STEP 13
Place the Honey cake without rolling it in the refrigerator overnight. During this time, it will be well saturated with cream, infused, and become soft and juicy. The next morning you can treat yourself by serving the treat with tea or coffee. Bon appetit!
