Here the dough contains a lot of butter, and the cake is baked not on a baking sheet, but in a mold, and then cut into pieces. It's quick and easy to prepare. The base for the cakes turned out very tasty and aromatic. But the structure is not the same as that of the author. My cakes turned out dense, and it seemed to me that the dough did not rise very much in the oven. Perhaps I didn’t add enough baking soda, or maybe I left it in the oven too long. I only added about a teaspoon of soda; I was afraid there would be a distinct soda smell. But despite this, the cake turned out very tasty. I took the cream according to the recipe. Yes, the cakes were a bit dense, but this did not affect the taste of the cake. My family was satisfied. I spread the same cream on top of the cake, and made a mesh from melted chocolate with the addition of cream. Thank you very much to the author for this recipe! The other day it was my mother's anniversary. I decided to make her a cake. I didn’t look for any fancy cake recipes, I chose the classic - honey cake. It was necessary to cook on a weekday, and on such days, unfortunately, there is not as much time as we would like. That’s why I chose this recipe, without rolling out the cakes. I followed the recipe completely. The sponge cake turned out amazing, I divided it into 5 cake layers. I coated them with sour cream and used the top of the sponge cake and some walnuts, chopped in a blender, for sprinkling. I didn’t have anything to decorate, so here’s how I got out of the situation: I took a Valentine’s card, traced the outline with a pencil on parchment and cut out a heart, put it on the cake, sprinkled it, then took it off. The cake went into the refrigerator overnight. As a result, mom and all the guests were delighted! The cake was well soaked and just melted in your mouth! Not everyone even realized that it was a sponge cake. Thank you for such a delicious and simple honey cake recipe!
