  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook semolina porridge with milk and water? Prepare your food. Milk of any fat content is suitable, and take filtered or bottled water - tap water will spoil the dish with its taste. You can also change the proportions of milk and water - take more of one or the other. Or cook porridge only with milk or only with water. Depending on how thick you like your porridge, you can increase the total amount of liquid.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Take a saucepan suitable for cooking porridge. The main secret of semolina porridge without lumps is not to pour the cereal into boiling liquid, but to pour it cold. Therefore, immediately pour the semolina into the ladle and fill it with milk and then with water, while stirring the cereal with a spoon. Then add sugar and salt. Also vary their quantity according to your taste.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the saucepan with the porridge on low heat. This also affects the quality of the porridge - if the heat is too high, the porridge can quickly thicken at the bottom.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Cook the porridge with constant stirring. This is another secret to a uniform consistency. Cooking will not take you much time - the porridge cooks for 5-7 minutes.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Gradually the porridge will thicken and boil. Boil it for a couple of minutes. If it seems thick to you, then pour in a little more milk or water.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add a piece of butter to the prepared porridge and stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Turn off the heat and cover the saucepan with a lid. Leave the porridge to stand for a few minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Then serve the porridge to the table. You can add fresh fruits, dried fruits, jam or jam to it. Bon appetit!

My grandmother taught me how to cook semolina porridge in a similar way, telling me that you need to pour semolina into lukewarm milk, without waiting for it to get very hot or boil. This grandmother's secret helps me cook porridge without lumps. But your method is even more convenient. The semolina porridge made with milk and water turned out to be very tender, thick, just as we like, and very tasty. Not a single hint of lumps! I cooked it for six servings, since this is my children’s favorite porridge. I didn’t change the proportions of milk and water.katushafin, thank you very much for the wonderful recipe. I will definitely share it with my grandmother)

For breakfast I wanted to make myself semolina porridge with milk and water. Judging by the photo of the finished dish, the porridge turns out to be quite thick, so I reduced the amount of semolina (I like thinner porridge). By pouring semolina into cold liquid and boiling it with constant stirring, I got a tender, homogeneous porridge without lumps. When serving, I added butter and washed raisins. Delicious! Thanks for the recipe, katushafin!

I like semolina porridge thinner, so I slightly reduced the proportions of the cereal. But I cooked it with milk and water in the same proportions as the author of the recipe. I liked how it turned out! I added a spoonful of jam for taste. Bon appetit everyone!

My God, how long has it been since I cooked or ate semolina porridge!!! This reminder is just a wonderful gift from childhood! I remember, immediately after the war, I, 6 years old, went to the Children’s Kitchen to get porridge for my little sister - there was naturally nothing to cook porridge from ourselves... You can’t imagine how much I wanted to at least lick from that bottle!!! I remembered, my heart ached :( Now I’m going to cook myself a festive New Year’s porridge, thank you very much! Happy New Year to absolutely everyone from this kind and useful site! I wish you happiness and health!

Thanks to the author for the recipe! To be honest, I don’t remember the proportions from memory, I have to look it up on the internet every time :)) I really liked your recipe, this is it!!!! If you want it thinner, add less cereal. What’s also convenient, you can calculate it for any amount of liquid, which I did for 900 ml of liquid. Respect to the author for this too :)))
