Sausages in batter on a stick
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make battered sausages on a stick? Prepare your food. Any sausage will do, as long as it is of high quality and tasty. You can use all corn flour or use a mixture of wheat and corn. Read about the properties of flour in the article at the end of this recipe. Kefir is suitable for any fat content. Add salt and sugar to your taste.
STEP 2
Pour kefir into a bowl, pour soda into it. Stir and leave to stand for 10 minutes - a reaction will begin between them, due to which the batter will be airy. Then pour water into the kefir. Add sugar and salt. Read about the intricacies of using soda in the article at the end of this recipe.
STEP 3
Sift the flour and mix with soda. Pour the mixture into the liquid part and stir. You may need a little less or more flour, check the consistency of the dough. If it remains liquid, add more flour. If it turns out too thick, add a little water. The dough should become like thick kefir. The batter is ready. If the sausages are long, cut them in half. Insert a wooden skewer into each. It is better if they are long to hold them when frying.
STEP 4
Take a saucepan, cauldron or saucepan with a thick bottom - it is important that the heating is uniform. Pour vegetable oil for frying into the selected container. Place it on medium heat. Heat the oil. To check if it is ready for frying, drop a little batter into the oil - if it floats up immediately, the oil is hot enough. Dip the sausage into the batter. Dip it into the oil and hold it a little by the stick so that the batter grabs and does not stick to the bottom.
STEP 5
Dip and dip other sausages in the same way. Do not fry many sausages at once so that they do not interfere with each other. Fry them, constantly rotating the sticks, until golden brown. Here you will understand why long skewers are convenient. You will learn how to choose oil for frying by reading the article at the end of the recipe.
STEP 6
Remove the finished battered sausages on a stick fried in oil from the fryer and place on a plate with a paper towel - it will absorb excess fat. Fry all the sausages this way.
STEP 7
Serve deep-fried sausages in batter with ketchup or mustard. Bon appetit!
