Sand rings with nuts according to GOST
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make sand rings with nuts according to GOST? First prepare the flour. Sift it into a separate bowl to get rid of any debris and saturate it with oxygen, which will make the baked goods more fluffy. Mix flour with baking soda or baking powder. The original GOST recipe calls for soda, choose what you want.
STEP 2
Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance so that it becomes soft. If you haven’t had time to do this, soften it in the microwave at low power. No need to heat it, just leave it on for a few seconds. Beat soft butter with sugar. Add salt, vanilla sugar and egg to it.
STEP 3
Add all the flour and mix the dough for 15 seconds at minimum mixer speed. You will get sand crumbs.
STEP 4
Knead the resulting crumbs into a homogeneous dough with your hands. Do not knead for a long time - the shortbread dough becomes hard in the finished products from prolonged kneading.
STEP 5
Wrap the finished dough in cling film and put it in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes.
STEP 6
Roast the peanuts in the oven for 10 minutes at 160°-170°. To do this, pour it onto a baking sheet covered with paper. Stir the nuts a couple of times during the process.
STEP 7
Roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of 6-7 mm. To prevent it from sticking, sprinkle the table and rolling pin with flour. Use a mold or ring to cut out circles from it.
STEP 8
Cut holes inside the circle to create rings. If you don't have a special recess, use a bottle cap.
STEP 9
Brush the rings with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with nuts. Place the rings on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place them in the freezer for 15-20 minutes.
STEP 10
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Bake the rings for 12-15 minutes. There is no need to brown them. When baked for a long time, the shortbread dough becomes harder. Cool the finished rings and serve. Bon appetit!
