    How to make a salad with marinated squid and onions? Prepare your food. Squid is usually sold frozen; first defrost it naturally. You can use regular onions or red salad onions, I like salad ones better. Any vegetable oil will do, I used olive oil. Prepare a small saucepan, pour water into it and heat it on the fire.

    Peel the squid and remove the insides. Rinse each carcass under cold running water. As soon as the water in the pan boils, add the bay leaf to it. Place the squid carcass in boiling water for 30-40 seconds from the moment it boils, then remove it and place it on a plate. You don't need to cook the squid for long - it can turn rubbery. As soon as the water boils again, boil the other carcass as well. Let the squid cool completely.

    Cut the cooled squid carcasses into long strips and place in a deep bowl.

    Peel the onion and cut into half rings. Add chopped onion to squid.

    Add salt to taste, vinegar and vegetable or olive oil to the bowl. Mix the salad thoroughly and marinate in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. During this time, I would also recommend stirring the salad several times so that all the ingredients are soaked evenly.

    Serve the finished salad chilled. It will be a great addition to many dishes - potatoes, rice, vegetables. Bon appetit!

I have long wanted to make a salad with marinated squid and onions. Finally, I had squid, but I forgot how to handle them. It’s good that the recipe describes everything in detail. My carcasses were not cleaned, I defrosted them and washed them. After lowering it to boiling water, I cooked for a minute, while turning the carcasses with a fork, because they were puffed up. After this, the squid cleaned easily. I cut them into strips and cut the red onion into quarter rings. Dressed with olive oil and apple cider vinegar. After an hour of marinating I tried it, I didn’t have enough salt and sugar. I added it based on my taste. It turned out just great! Squids are soft, juicy and spicy! After marinating, the onions also became very tasty and sour. This salad can be served with a foamy drink as a snack.
