Step-by-step preparation

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

We prepare the necessary products according to the list. How to buy crab sticks correctly? Be sure to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. Surimi meat (minced white fish) should be listed first in the ingredients list. Important! Do not buy the product if there is frost on it. This is a sign of re-freezing. Fresh sticks should be free of gray and yellow spots, elastic and slightly moist. If the product is sticky, it is spoiled.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well. If you are using the cocktail variety, simply cut them in half. Cut large tomatoes into small cubes or strips. Be sure to drain the juice formed from slicing; it will add excess liquid to the salad. If the tomato skin is too thick, it is better to remove it. To do this, immerse the tomatoes in hot water for a few seconds. Make cross cuts on top with a knife. Remove the skin.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Thaw frozen crab sticks in advance. Without removing the packaging, place them on a cutting board and let them thaw. Now remove the film. If it doesn't unwind well, hold the sticks over the steam for 1-3 seconds. Now cut them into medium sized rings.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the garlic cloves, pass through a press or chop as finely as possible with a knife. Adjust the amount of garlic to your taste. Mix with mayonnaise in a separate plate.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Combine crab sticks and tomatoes in a large salad bowl. Season with mayonnaise. Salt and pepper to taste. Stir gently. Prepare the bowls in advance. They should be washed and dried well. Arrange the salad. Garnish with a sprig of dill, parsley, cilantro or basil leaves. The salad can be served in a common salad bowl, but in portioned containers the dish will look more impressive and more festive.

Juicy tomatoes, crab sticks and aromatic garlic - just the perfect combination! The tomatoes were really juicy, so after cutting, I salted them and left them in a sieve to catch the juice. By the way, the tomatoes were not very large, I took five of them. Mayonnaise replaced sour cream with a little mustard. Added garlic and mixed with tomatoes and crab sticks. The combination is amazing! Very tasty, a little spicy, filling and juicy. A simple quick salad that can be prepared very quickly. The whole family liked the result)

Thank you, quite a nice salad!!! It is better to take dense plum tomatoes, cut them and let the juice drain, then the salad is beautiful and retains its shape, without excess moisture. We will do more!

I also really love this salad, but I add a boiled egg and cheese to suit my taste. I cut everything into strips, yummy.
