  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make cookies from rye flour with cinnamon? Prepare your food. Take natural, high-quality, tasty honey. The taste of the cookies will largely depend on this.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

If your honey, like mine, is thick and candied, then melt it in a water bath; just heat the liquid honey.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Combine honey with egg and soda. Be sure to wash your eggs before using them, as even seemingly clean shells can harbor harmful bacteria. It is best to use food grade detergents and a brush.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    Add ground cinnamon.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

    Add 150 g of flour.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Knead the dough, adding flour if necessary. Be prepared that you may need more or less flour than indicated in the recipe. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the desired consistency of the dough. It should become homogeneous and not sticky.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Roll out the dough into a layer about 5 mm thick. If necessary, sprinkle the table with flour.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Cut out figures from the dough. Or just cut into diamonds.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

For sprinkling, combine sugar with cinnamon and mix. Instead of regular sugar, you can use brown sugar - it will be even tastier.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Place the pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment, sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes at 180°C. The exact time will depend on the features of your oven. Cool the finished cookies a little and serve with milk or tea. Bon appetit!

I haven’t baked these cookies before, I’ll try them. I know the recipe for buns made from rye flour, they turn out great.

The recipe primarily attracted attention for its sugar-free nature and non-standard choice of flour. I excluded sugar for sprinkling, replacing it with honey, into which I poured cinnamon for testing. By the way, don’t repeat my mistake, check that the rolled out dough has not stuck to the table BEFORE you cut out the cookies with a cookie cutter and try to take them out. In general, the recipe is very simple, but the basic result did not impress me with the taste. These are good, not too sweet cookies, perfect for drying in the form of a figured decoration on a Christmas tree or for small children, so that they are tasty and long-lasting and not harmful. Closer to Christmas, I’ll probably repeat these cookies, but in addition to cinnamon, I’ll add ground spices to the dough for mulled wine, they are very welcome in the recipe for aroma and mood.
